Red/Black Styling Advice

I have a Red, 2000 V6 convertible, which is pretty much currently stock. Here are some mods I would like to do:

1. Side scoops and rear bumper have sun damage and they need to be repainted. The original color of the car is a somewhat pearl red, not flat red. (11 years old, some fading apparent) What do you think about me having the side scoops painted black instead of back to their original color? I like the red/black combination on Mustangs.

2. As soon as the tires wear out, I plan to replace the 15" OEM wheels for 18x9s in the front and 18x10s in the rear. I am not set on any particular wheel, but I DO LIKE the idea of black rims with a red stripe.

3. K&N CAI ($250) vs American Muscle CAI ($80). I am not trying to kid anyone, my car is not a GT or anything. But I would like a more aggressive sound!

Here are some pics of a car the same color as yours with black rims/red lip. These are the same wheel company that I have mine through. They are rather costly but many out thre can do black wheels, just can see what it looks like on this one.

CAI isn't going to give you a whole lot so I would go with AM. get an exhaust, look into h-pipe.

I would do the FR500s! Good luck!

Re: Red/Black Styling Advice

I forgot to include:

4. Mach 1 chin spoiler from American Muscle (~$100)

5. I already purchased sequential tail light turn signals from AM. Sweet!

Thanks or the pics, SpectorV.

Laylala: I do like fr500s! Hard to find all black fr500s thou. The only "black" fr500s I see have this annoying silver living.

1. I would just have the scoops painted the same color as the car...I've seen many stangs in different colors with the scoops painted black, and they just don't look right.

2. I like choice of wheels...18's are the perfect size for the 99-04's. I think a color matching pinstripe on the rim would look hot. Definite yes in my book.

3. As said, I wouldn't go crazy with the CAI...an AM CAI will do just fine and give you some improved sound and that infamous whistle.

The Mach 1 chin spoiler is a great addition...definite must for the front end. I'd consider a Mach 1 grille delete as well...really cleans up the grille area.
