Unhappy Lost my mustang in a fire!!!:(:(

Well Guy's and Gal's It's true. I lost my mustang in a fire. I fixed the headgaskets and didn't think the cat/converter would be stopped up but it was. When I started it it ran good but I didn't notice the exhaust glowing red until it caught the piece of carpet that I had laying down under the car on fire. By the time I noticed it it was to late and I was by myself with no help to put the flames out. I lost my entire garage, mustang, tools, and even my ford ranger that I had just back.

I will post some pics later. I'm waiting on the insurance guy to come out but I didn't have any property coverage just insurance on the stang. Hope everything works out well and thankfull that I still have my home. I'm also working on getting another mustang so wish me luck. I know I'm going to need all I can get.

What a shame. I don't know how I would handle that. I hope your insurance company does you right. Hey just may let you get a new stang.....or rebuild the garage, or best scenario both.

Very sorry to hear but as said what's really important is that you're okay and your home wasn't harmed.

Good luck and hope everything works out

Just don't let the guy short you. With a previous ins company I had they were going to pay to fix hail damage on the hood of my jeep but did not want to pay for the fiberglass top. I got em to finally replace the top after weeks of going back and forth with them. I've since gone back to usaa with no problems from them what so ever. I'll never use another insurance company again.

Dude, I'm sorry that happened. That sucks. Good luck. Same thing happened to my brother when he had his 88 coupe ex patrol car. He came home one night, and his alternator shorted out about 15 mins after he parked it. It had snowed and there was ice on the ground, he hit about 0-60 running out there in his boxers and my dads bedroom slippers in about 4 seconds. Lol. It messed his hood up, alternator, and his wiring harnesses. He was pissed.

Yeh I f'ed my knee up trying to put the fire out. I think it was the first time in a long time that I actually cried. But oh well life goes on and the car is replaceable. Found one on craigslist for $1500 same year but hardtop, Might go look at it tomorrow.

Getting the crying done and man up.... It's time to get a new Stang.

But really, your pictures shocked me. I am sorry for your loss, and I hope you didn't f your knee up too bad...

Now, look ahead and not back... My 55 Chevy wagon, 90 Astro, 99 GT and my 05 GT all got clobbered at the same time in our tornado, so I really know how it feels...

My 05 had $9,000 damage, the 99 was totaled. The 55 wasn't insured and neither was the Astro.

The Insurance company paid me $9,000 for the 99. I paid them back $1,000 for salvage rights to the 99 and put windows in it and sold it to a kid for what I had in it. So I got $8,000 for it and $9,000 for the damage on the 05, minus the $500 deductible, so they cut me a check for $16,500 with in 48 hours. The yellow 05 got new windows and a paint job, and I found an 05 GT for $16,000 on ebay to replace the 99.

The damage on my house was approximately the same amount, and it took a year and a half to get all our money. The cars were insured with Farm Bureau and the house was Allied/Nationwide. The house is now Farm Bureau too....

I sold the Astro for $600 to a painter who replaced the windows in it, and the 55 I sold to a guy who expressed interest in it, for exactly what I had in it, which wasn't much, just $1,500.

I have since traded the 05 GT that we found on ebay for our 07 Roush, they gave me $16,000 for it and we'd driven it a year.. I'd say I did alright...

I must share something with you... When I paid off the 99, I was going to reduce my insurance to collision, but it was only going to save me something like $15.00 a month. So I left it full coverage... but I forgot I did. I was smiling big when my insurance adjuster assured me that I still had full coverage.

What is even more remarkable is that I almost traded in the 99 for the first 05, but the dealership, with whom I had originally bought the car, would only offer me $4,700 for it as a trade in. I declined.... I ended up almost doubling my money on it but it was half luck...
