HID headlamps

Hey,
I just got a mustang and want to put hid headlamps. I have a 2010 v6 mustang. I went to ford and they charged me $600 plus tax. Does anyone know how I can get one for cheaper? Please send me websites of where I can find a good and cheaper one? Sorry I'm new at this so I don't know much about hid headlamps r they all the same or are some different power? I would like one like the one they put in ford dealers.
Thank you soo much any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: HID headlamps

well if you want it done right... then you will have to go with the factory HID headlamp lights with all the hardware.

You can do it much cheaper by just putting HID bulbs in the stock housings but this is not legal (most states dont care) and it wont work out quite as well (it will blind people lol)

You can price the OEM ford parts yourself if you want to save some cash and install them yourself or get a mustang shop you trust to do it.

Call steve at tousleyfordparts.com and see what they can do, they have great prices on ford stuff.

you can adjust so they don't blind anyone.i do think the light is much better.i live in an area that have many deer and i've seen them clearly on dark roads so very helpful.

Re: HID headlamps

People that put HID bulbs in a halogen housing are the ones I want to shoot at while driving. I swear I'm going to mount some 500 watt aux lights on the front of the focus just to blind those people.

Re: HID headlamps

The factory systems are nice, I'd love to have a car equipped. I've just been blinded by too many people with 12k headlights in a chevy truck on 22's. If you're willing to install them the correct way, then go for it.

But yes, you can go on ebay, elsewhere, and buy a cheap HID kit for under 100 bucks and have the look. Honestly though, the stock housings just aren't designed to be used with that bulb.

Wait, so you can get the factory HIDs from Ford installed?? I really love HIDs and want them on mine too. My girl has a 370 Z with them and they are awesome. I'm calling my dealer tomorrow to check it out. Honestly, I don't think $600 is that bad if it's a factory system. And is that just the parts? Guessing yes.

So has anyone else added factory HIDs?

You're better off letting ford doing it, I have hids on my 2011 gt and it's worth it, any other hid kits from eBay etc wont be the same and you will prob get pulled over because u need a special housing for hids, which ford is probably replacing. Plus all there work comes with warranty

I think it should be more than 600 for a hid kit from ford

I've been trying to get ahold of steve at tousley to find out price, but their price online shows $750 each for the headlight assemblies and $180 each for ballasts. And I don't know if you need a wiring harness also. Anyway looks like big money.
