I'm with you there. Didn't realize I was at 140 until I looked down. Was watching the road and the vette behind me. Haha

my brakes were what clued me in to how fast I was going. Ha ha. Needless to say I been needing a brake job for a while. Lol. The srt was a bit more of an experience. But it was in my more wreckless days. Sigh... I miss her still. The cobra is like a rebound

Re: Top speed?

A car is normally lowered and suspension stiffened in order to go faster. You should also have the best tires you can afford and don't exceed their speed rating. Stiffer and lower makes a car more stable, as do front fascia that incorporate air damns... Stopping the air from all going under the car help keep it from lifting at speed, as do the correct rear wing or spoiler.

Mostly, it takes horsepower to go fast, everything else is to make it safer...

Re: Top speed?

I got my '95 GT Vert to 137. Didn't feel safe to go any faster! Had much more pedal, though. Had my '11 to 140. Felt as if I was going about 55. Just wanted to be able to say I went faster in my 412 HP 5.0 than my 215 HP 5.0!!

Re: Top speed?

140....I hit 100/120 everytime I drive it because I only drive it about once a week.I do that 100/120 on a empty stretch of the upper deck on the highway.

100 in my '07 GT. It felt like I was going about 60! The faster it goes, the smoother the ride it seems. Theses cars are made for it. I really find it hard sometimes to keep it below 90 except when I am in traffic or if I know CHP are around.
