Re: Mustang Week

I'm not going to have the fox by the time mustang week comes. we are in the process of selling it but we will bring the 2008 GT. And if the new fox I get is built we'll bring that as well.

Re: Mustang Week

Yup but we have to build the v8 first which is why it may not make it to mustang week.

Re: Mustang Week

Well as far as I know we have a limited budget and we are going to be doing heads, cam, and forged internals. It shouldn't take long but we have a limited amount of time to work on it. On weekdays we can only do 5-dark and on the weekends we have just about all day. But we don't even have a motor yet soo we have to find one.

So...your selling your car...buying a body...then a motor?

Re: Mustang Week

Correct. We just wanted to go with a 5spd hatch back instead of an auto convertible to do the swap with. Found a hatch for 1900 that we might buy. But my dad has also been talking about just buying a GT so we don't have to get a motor and we can just upgrade that one... He confuses me a lot.

Honestly..just get a gt, or an lx 5.0, it'll be alot easier than trying to convert one or put a motor in one. Then you can ho ahead and get to modding instead of putting in a motor then modding

That's sounds like a lot of time and money needed to finish that project

Re: Mustang Week

That's what he's saying, but that's where the budget issue is most that are respectable gt's want over 4k which we cannot pay for another car right now so we figured just do the swap and then are insurance will have us covered for a four cylinder instead of a v8

I would do the swap. Buy a built rotating assembly. Leave the bottom ends to the pros.

Yeah. Like my car. That's why I don't have a real 5.0 car, or a 94-04 gt, because of how high insurance would be. If you do get a 4 cyl body, make sure the motor that you buy is carbed, or switch it over. If you don't, and if you go efi, then you have to change the wiring harnesses, computer, etc. You'll have to get an 8.8 rear end also, either way. And they can be kinda costly.

Re: Mustang Week

Yeah, probably going carbed. My dad knows how to wire I just need the car kinda soon so we don't want to take too long

Go carbed first. Collect all your parts later to go fi.
