Re: 1990 5.0

Check the top for cracks and check if it works. Other than that it sounds decent

Re: 1990 5.0

I would not worry about the miles as much as the rust and rot condition on the underside and tower area. that seems to always be the typical issues in most cheap fox mustang up my way at least. You can always rebuild that motor easy and not to much cost but a rot box could be bigger issues than you may want to handle.

Good Luck

Agreed. Definitely want to check the torque boxes for twisting while your checking out the underside. Also check the window sills, trunk/hatch areas, etc for rust.

Re: 1990 5.0

When I stared to look for another fox body i went thru about 15 of them and each had rust and rot issues. Every person would say its clean then you drive all the way to them and look under it and just want to kick them.
A friend of mine bought one last year that was a total rot box and ended up having to part it out 3 months later the rot was so bad.

Yea just look really good if you do go to check it out. It may be a clean car just dont want to see a fellow Mustang guy get burned with a rat box.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

I'm in the same boat now!!!! Looked at about 10 foxs , all of them rotted underneath . Other than the notorious spots any other spots I should be looking for?

Re: 1990 5.0

Top frame rails for cracks/breaks. These are hard to find replacements for
