Way to test for an exhaust leak?

Whats the best method to quickly and easily test to see if you have an exhaust leak?

We used to use transmission fluid. Let the engine suck it in through a small vacuum line and look for smoke. But that is some really old low tech ****. I just developed a small leak after my trans build. Y-pipe collector. Just gotta get back under it and readjust for sure. It has to be header to heads or y-pipe collector for yours though.

Last I checked all v8 mustangs had X or H pipes (stock)....only the V6's had Y's...and GM's.

then I'm real old school , i just crawl around under the car ( up on jack stands of coarse ) and use my ears and listen

umm if you can get under the car.. then look at all the connections and if you see black soot then you have a leak. its what I did to find mine.. i was like wtf why do I smell exhaust through my vents... sure enough had a leak, used some autozone 6 dollar weld crap and im on my way. lol

i can try to listen not sure i can hear it~ but maybe... it really doesnt do it (that i can hear from inside the car) while sitting still only when under a load.
