Alternator power (2004 v6)

Does any body know how many volts/amps a stock alternator puts out? I was just wondering if I needed a capacitor to run 2 alpine amps.

I think it's 14.4 volts and it's a good idea to either have a capacitor or an extra battery to keep up to the bass hit. Either or will save your lights from dimming

I already have hids which require less power anyways, I'm just wondering if I need it to keep the bass nice and strong.

It's not a bad idea because sometimes................when your bass is hitting a beat or something and your lights are on the power will all go to the bass and your lights will start flashing...

Re: Alternator power (2004 v6)

i have an Alpine headunit with 1000W amp and 2 12in subs on stock alternator in my 04 V6 with no issues so far. my lights do dim very slightly every now and then but it poses no safety risk as it is barely even noticable.

i guess it would differ depending on the power of your specific set up ya know. but i know it handles what i got very well. and i have yet to upgrade the factory mids/highs. they still doin fine for me.

Okay, well I'm gonna have an alpine mrp-500 500watt mono amp, and an alpine mrp-f300 4-channel for the highs. So Idk...
