Summer Toys

A pic from last year. Summer is almost here. Took my bike out yesterday for the first time. And the mustang comes out to play tomorrow.

Sweet! I took my bike out last week and just got the car out of storage yesterday.

Let the modding begin!

Re: Summer Toys

That's what I love about the south...I never really put the toys up for winter...

Must be a nice feeling to get that first ride of the year in though.

That's awesome. The road have so much gravel on them . But my stang comes out tomorrow after like 6 months on storage. Gotta change the oil, gear oil, tranny flush along with power steering. Oh and a good wash and detail.

My car is faster than my bike haha. Is there something wrong with that?

Yah ours had a ton of sand and crap on them too for a while, but a couple good rainfalls cleaned them up good. That was last week...the very next day I had that damn bike out banging thru the gears

What kinda bike you have? Mine is a yamaha r6. It's my first bike bought it brand new last April. Modded it quite a bit already.

Re: Summer Toys

Nice, 85 Honda Shadow 750...definitely not a rocket...but I like it, and 40mpg kicks ***, lol.

I've had my eye out for a used cbr600 but haven't seen too many around here.

My buddy is thinking about selling his 06 gixxer 1000...pipes, sprocket, few other things...
bike scares me though...had it up to 103 in 1st

Haha, yah I just have that fear of plastering myself doing something stupid, at least in a car you have half a chance, and insurance has kept me from getting one too. Maybe after the 24-25 yr old dropoff I'll get one.

I'm 21 and the insurance on it is outrageous. I just paid it 3129 for a full year. Haha my stang is over 6000. I hate being young haha

Holy **** dude, I'm 21 as well, so no rocket for me for a while, damn

My stang is a lot less now that it isn't the primary vehicle, but it's still pricey compared to my F150.

Re: Summer Toys

i don't have a designated summer toy. the fox is the only toy i need. my boyfriend has a Honda Shadow Sabre. he has it sounding better than most Harleys. we taking it part this winter to shave the rear fender and fix the infamous Honda lip on the gas tank. i'm pretty excited. something new for me to get into.. haha

Not really true on the 1000's comment. Look at GSX-R's...2009 GSX-R 1000 Curb Weight - 448lbs, 2009 GSX-R 750 Curb Weight 437lbs...that's only a difference of 11lbs (there were no 2010 GSX-R's in the USA) not sure the weight for the 11's yet. The 1000's 11lb difference would be shed super quickly by dropping off the factory dual exhaust system after the header since the 600 and 750 only run a single.

Also depends on what your using your motorcycle for...if it's a wide open track like Pocono's FUSA, NJMP or even Beaverun...the 1000 is king. Take a smaller, shorter, tighter track like Summit Point JC then the 600 will be king.

Either way a properly set up suspension will be the key to ridding the bike to any potential.

Believe me, I know a little about what i'm talking about

2003 Yamaha R1 RaceBike - dyno'd 143hp, 74lb tq
2009 Suzuki GSX-R 750 - dyno'd 132hp, don't remember torque
1996 Suzuki GSX-R 600 Racebike - don't remember numbers

And a few track pics that were on my work computer.
