boss 302

Who has put on the Boss intake on the 2011 5.0 coyote motor. How did the performance change. I see that american muscle has it for under $450. Wow

i think its showing 15-20rwhp with a tune (as in the tune make more but thats along with the tune without it might not make as much?)

It seems to pull like a freight train on the top end almost in the rpm range where you don't need it anymore unless you have a track car. This is just what I have seen but it is worth the$450 IMO. GO FOR IT!

American muscle clams 60+ with a CAI and tune. According to that video at the bottom of the page on the intake product

this months issue of : Muscle Mustang they do 3 different dyno tests on 3 different 5.0 combo's ..... the na car got 24 rwhp and lost 10 lb ft of torque , NOT BAD AT ALL ...... of coarse the na car with other mods got a little more and the blower car saw a lot more .............

If you really to do the Boss intake add some 4.10s for the loss of torque.

That's a bummer. What about the tuner. Doesn't the tuner add alot of low end torque. They told me at american muscle that adding the boss and a tuner with a CAI would make a great street rod would add low and high end

You can't look at peak gains and losses alone. The intake shifts the powerband to peak at the 7800 limiter which pretty much sucks when you leave a red light at 650 rpm.

No matter what you do with the intake you are going to lose torque, but the minor number that you lose isn't as important as the shift in the curve. Even with gears you will still have to rev it a lot more to see any gain, which isn't great or legal on the street.
