Too much mileage?

Getting a car with 185,000 km on it. Do I bother installing any performance mods?

If the car is clean and you plan on keeping it for a while, then yes. The worst case scenario is you may eventually replace an engine or something like that. No big deal. All of your mods will swap right over. Not sure what model you have but my 92 notch odometer rolled over before I bought it and I still modded the hell out of it after. No problems.

Re: Too much mileage?

Miles dont ever scare me if the car is taken care of. Does it have gears in it if so may they are not even the miles if the speedo was not also changed.

I agree, as long as it's been taken care of then your good to go.

Re: Too much mileage?

A friend of mine just bought a LS1 with 200K on the clock. We are about to spray the hell out of it.

Re: Too much mileage?

as everyone else has already stated, if its been taken care of then no need to worry. If it hasn't been taken care of then I wouldn't even buy it

Should I just get a mechanic to determine how well it's been taken care of?
