Superchargers

Alright guys i have a question about a supercharger. I ran into a guy that has a stock supercharger assembly off of an 08 cobra with a 5.4L. Mine is a 4.6L 3valve. He said that he would sell it all to me for $1,500. It comes with the intercooler, throttle body, ect... Is there any one that know were to find an intake that would match up from my motor to that supercharger? Sounds like a pretty good price, and i already know about the different compression ratios between the two engines.

Re: Superchargers

You can get one made, but his is ripping you off at 1500. I've seen them sell for 200-300 on ebay. They don't hold their value because they don't really fit anything else.

This is the full kit with like 2k miles on it, not just a supercharger. How much is it to get one made do you think?

Well, if you feel that it's a good deal then go for it. An intake will cost 1,500-3,500 dollars. Again, they have no value because they don't fit anything else.

Re: Superchargers

You seem to be trying to save money by purchasing something that doesn't fit, but instead you will just buy some twins lol.

Short answer, no it won't fit.

However, anything can work with enough money, but why would you want to throw so much money in a custom setup with a mediocre blower when you could just buy a whipple.

Re: Superchargers

The supercharger setup from a GT500 will not fit on your 4.6 without MAJOR modifications. The blower manifold is too wide to fit your heads, and then there are the tuning headaches. By the time you paid for those issues to be ironed out, you could have bought a Roushcharger or a Paxton centrifugal and it would be RIGHT.
