4.49

4.49 a gallon... are they fukn serious????

so im toiling in my garage everyday to build a car i will be lucky to drive a couple times a month. im de-tuning to a 2.73 gear, is that gonna be enough? mustang guys all over the world are gonna be scrambling to put bigger pullies on to lower their boost if they aren't rock'n 6spd trannies... which im not.

i drive a pick-up and im not happy....12city...14.7hwy

my other car is a 95 caprice.... 14city.....26-27hwy.

this is complete b.s.!!!!

how are we gonna afford to put fuel in police cars without layn off more officers, with ever decreasing city, county, and state revenues...

how are we gonna afford to put gas in fire trucks/vehicles without layn off more firefighters?

i know some of you here aren't on a budget like me, but at this rate, if u aren't u will be here real soon.

im just ranting, but the reality is this ppl. you may be able to afford build a totaly bad *** mustang.... but itsa fukd up world when it's gonna b cheaper to build a bad *** mustang than it will be to drive one...if that makes any sense. everyone will start to think twice bout that 5grand launch and smoking tires for a full city block.

it pisses me off professionaly, and personaly!!!!

Re: 4.49

Isn't it funny how the last time gas reached these prices oil was around $145 a barrel...now they are hitting these prices and oil is only around $112 a barrel last I checked? Kind of funny how that works.

I feel your pain for sure...and am loving the fact my new job is 1.2 miles from my house more and more every day. The cobra is parked until this weekend...then it is all hands on deck to get the 5.0 into the fox starting this weekend. Hopefully the 5.0 can get better mileage than this beat up old 4 cyl is getting right now.

Re: 4.49

the funny thing about that subject.

My last car was a 2004 Acura TL...ran on premium and got an average of 21mpg overall...on the highway i'd see 27 but in the city i'd see as low as 16. When I bought the Mustang...everyone was telling me how crazy I am. Believe it or not, we budget our gas per week...my usage actually went down with the mustang...with the higher gas prices i'm just now about breaking even between the car's. My wife calls our mustang the gas saver compared to our SUV or to the old TL. Plus it runs on regular. Now i've i'm heavy footed, totally a different story.

Normally by now I'd be riding the motorcycle every day and have 1-2K miles on it for the season...so far 3 rides for a whopping 300 miles...crappy rain.

Re: 4.49

Yea we are up at the 4.49 range also around here also and they just said they are raising our sales tax and adding items we didnt pay taxes on we now will. This is how they plan to help fuel law and state cars etc I think.

Funny how allthese things can go up like this but our pay checks dont go up at the same time and when they do it is only a small raise you can get.I am a business ownr and cant even give wht I would like for a raise to some workers I have. With gas and materials always going up I cant just raise my prices to the customer otherwise they will go else where.

Dont even get me going on health insurance right now that is another issue of ours here in the US I feel. But then again all insurnace is a scam IMO.

Re: 4.49

Yah it's 3.95 in LaCrosse where I'm at during the week, ~4.06 back home in central WI.

What's funny is that I traded in the Ranger for the F150 right around the time gas starting going up. Everyone said I was crazy for buying a bigger truck with rising gas prices. But they don't know the 5.4 3V gets the same mileage as that damn 3.0 Vulcan did

aint that the truth....for one hour for an A-10 (our primary CAS aircraft) costs over $15,000, not to mention they fly as a flight (two planes) and we control about 4 hrs of them a day looking for things to blow up lol. You don't even wanna know what what the F-18 costs with its big *** engine

Re: 4.49

Yea and I think they are saying that a barrel of oil is less than last year this time so cant figure why it is so much at the pump for us then.

Someone is making the cash from these high prices and its not us the end users I know that for sure.

Re: 4.49

you fellas are a little over dramatic. plus when we bought v8s we knew what we were getting ourselves into. i'd rather pay 5 a gallon and enjoy driving a fast/fun car, then drive something that is consevstive but slower than balls

based upon your comment, obviously we aren't in the same tax bracket. like i stated above, if you cant afford to drive and enjoy it, wuts the point? my stang isnt a trailer queen, it's meant to be enjoyed. and if you are blown like me... the price of premium fuel makes makes things a challenge. if wut you are saying had more merit... i woulda never started this thread.
