They are the same numbers. One is not shorter than the other. And it's required that it is readable outside the vehicle. That's why it's under the window. Both have the same number of digits.

Re: How rare is you Mustang?

no offense love the site you gave bc it was more detailed about a vin breakdown but its no where near telling us the rarity of our cars...

here is info on the 04's only by color... not going into convertibles, or GT, or man vs auto, or top color, or even interior color... so the day i find a site that will tell me what my true number is.. i think what you gave us is one hell of a good way to see our breakdown of options.

i went from 1-42,258 to 1-22,094 just by looking at color. just saying.

2004 Mustangs BY COLOR
Color Name Paint Code Units Sold
Black UA 22,094
Silver Metallic YN 19,755
Redfire G2 19,068
Dark Shadow Grey CX 18,415
Oxford White Z1 16,846
Torch Red D3 15,935
Sonic Blue SN 9,036
Screaming Yellow D6 7,501 (Breakdown)
Competition Orange CY 6,426
Crimson Red (40th Anniv only) FX 4,529
Azure Blue(Mach I only) L5 1,309

Re: How rare is you Mustang?

Cool site, but they only go up to early 2010 models and mine is September 2009 build date not yet in their system. Still difficult to find the production numbers from Ford on 2010 mustangs.

i must not have been reading mine right. i just remember trying to figure out what color red my car was, and i couldn't find it on the windshield one, so i went to the one in the doorjam.

Re: How rare is you Mustang?

I didn't enter mine in the database but I can tell you this...mine is 1 of 40. The Roush production is listed for the 2003 Dark Shadow Gray Coupe GT's produced in the Stage 2 option.

2003 Roush Mustang & F-150 Production Numbers

Re: How rare is you Mustang?

The least rare , lol
they were only supposed to make 5,000 Mach 1's , but they ended up making around 14,000 over the 2 years ..... and they made the most of the Torch Red ones .....

Re: How rare is you Mustang?

Website says:
"5,113 vehicles matching your year and description in our database."

Which is completely false, there were 344 made identical to this car. Sonic blue, black top, dark interior.

The build date given of 2/25/03 is true, so something is right.

It's not saying that the 5113 are identical to yours. It says they match yours description. It don't count the packages.
