Question Paint problem on a 2012

I gave two paint problems on my new 2012 Convert. One is on the trunk lid and it looks like something was under the paint and pop loose. This left two small craters like someone came along with a spring loaded center punch and punched my car. The second problem in just under the drivers rear quater glass in a small bump in the paint. Dealer said that they are paint problems from the factory. Anyone else have a simular problem?
Thank you

they should fix them as its a factory defect, dentless repair may be easy if its just dents and not chips.

Go back and pitch a reasonable fit about it until they fix it. If not go over their heads. Did you speak to the salesperson about your issue or a sales manager?

Oh hell yeah....thats what they are already trying to do. Do some research or contact Ford directly and explain your situation and what the dealer is telling you.

take a tape recorder in there and get them to say their name and what they do and describe to you WHY its not covered.. I be they will shut up REAL quick. Of course keep being polite about it, anger and yelling etc wont do any good... well usually

Re: Paint problem on a 2012

They are fixing the problem with a repaint of the trunk lid and a repaint of the entire divers side (at least that is what they said). I'm just concerned that the repaint they do will not be as good as the factory paint job. I plan on keeping this untill they bury me and then passing it on to my son. I don't want to end up with a two tone paint job that is hood/rightside and trunk/leftside. Does anyone know if the repaint will fade the same as the factory paint? Will it be as smooth as the factory paint? I plan on checking out cool, texture and the repair it's self.

When I bought my 2011 it had white spots in the clear-coat. The dealer had it repainted at the body shop plus they sprayed an extra coat of clear for good measure.

Re: Paint problem on a 2012

Anyone following this; took the car in on 5-16 and they said it would be a week. On 5-23 I called them and they said that they had not herd anything from the body shop, but would check into it. 5-24 I called them again and they said that they wanted to do an extra good job and that I would have it back late on the 25th or 26th. It's the 26th now so maybe today? I just wonder what they meant be an extra good job? Does that mean that they normally just do an OK job? Or is there more problems that what was originally thought? After the long wait afetr ordering it and then the cost of the car and now the wait to get a bad factory paint job repaired, I wonder why I buy new!

Sounds to me like they hadn't started painting it when you called. Sometimes I find things get done faster when you go to the dealership in person to check on your car. Idk, I tend to be skeptical of answers like the ones you're getting.

Re: Paint problem on a 2012

Latest up-date.
I called the dealer Wed (June 1st) and they said that it was ready, so I went to pick it up. The two paint issues look great and the dfealer says to not wax it for at least 90 days. As I'm looking it over I find that there are swirl marks in the clear coat. As I look closer I find that there are now marks by the door handle that were not there when I dropped it off. I pointer this out to the service advisor, so he called the body shop and had the manager come over. Pointed everything out to the body shop and they said no problem, that they just needed to rebuff those areas. Everyone thought that I would get it back on Thursday afternoon. Thursday late afternoon came and I get a call that it would be ready today around 11am. Its now 12:30pm and still no word. I'm beginning to think that they are going to have it longer than I have had it. So after waiting 4-1/2 months to get it after ordering, then having it for just a round 3-1/2 weeks and now waiting to get it fixed for almost 3 weeks. Not to happy right now.
