Re: yes, its another exhaust thread...

Yah Flowmasters have rust issues, haven't heard too much about Magnaflows blowing out...heard about some hangers breaking and rattling on them. Pypes (for the 99-04 cars) had fitment issues, haven't heard about any fitment issues for the +05's, everyone I talked to that had full length or axlebacks had no issues installing.

The biggest thing about used parts is knowing how long they were on the car. A set of mufflers on a daily driven car (including winters) from the midwest are going to be in rougher shape than mufflers from a lower mileage car in california.

The amount of use and conditions are important when buying used exhaust parts.

Checking for leaks and cracks is important as well, but you usually can't do that unless you see the parts in person.

Re: yes, its another exhaust thread...

thats what she said!.. lol all jokes aside, i would love a borla exhaust. just funds man. these dynomax mufflers have been on my car for 5 years now and have little rust on the outside of them. so i guess they are an ok brand

ok..iv heard mixed reviews about pypes, but idk..maybe its not really that true. I have a few people trying to sell me stuff. they are all O/R h-pipes.
$140 for brand new JBA shipped
$125 for new Pypes shipped
$120+shipping for Pypes "with everything I need" (not sure what all that is)
...any of those sound like good deals? if not I'll probably save up for a nicer mid-pipe like borla or bassani.

Re: yes, its another exhaust thread...

I met a guy at a local car show last weekend and he had an 06 GT...installed the Pypes "pype bombs" axlebacks...said the install was a breeze..they sounded amazing!

Really loud and deep for having all the cats on. I can't remember if you have a v6 or a v8.

Pypes is a pretty good name, I haven't heard any outstanding bad things about them. Where r u getting this offers from, ebay? craigslist? or something else?

will more of the loudness/sound quality come from the mid-pipe or mufflers?
