Re: Dissapointed in the new mustangs

The hot Mustang in 1980 was a turbo 4... The V8 sucked that year....

I don't mind a Turbo 4 banger as long as the V8 is still around.

The Ecoboost is a nice engine I drove the f150 3.5 Ecoboost you didn't even know the V8 wasn't there. I didn't haul anything which would be the real test. I'd imagine it do fine.

I'd guess the Ecoboost 4cyl would replace the V6. I'd be highly upset, not to mention thousands of others, if Ford decided not to go with an 8cyl.

Re: Dissapointed in the new mustangs

I don't LIKE the idea of a turbo 4cyl but I can understand why they would do it....people want fuel efficient cars and they want a powerful car so it makes sense that they wouldn't have to compromise...and as much as I hate to say it..it's reaching out to the ricer world....

A lot of people also killed themselves in those things from what I'm told. Bring back the fox body with the turbo 4 or the 5.0 v8 and we are talking.

Re: Dissapointed in the new mustangs

Ive owned Dodge's, Chevy's and one Ford. Im currently hunting for another Mustang. Gotta say something? lol The Mustangs are the "best of both worlds" kind of vehicle. Might not handle on rails, or be balls to the wall fast (factory) but it will out run most others because it does a little of all of it well. Very good design and build. Now...if only Ford would have done better with rust on the older cars lol.

Re: Dissapointed in the new mustangs

It's 2011 for christ's sake. If they can build half the mill and pull as much power as the GTs from just a couple years ago, then why not. There will always be a V8, but an alternative that can still play and not pay so much for gas isn't a bad option either. Remember, the first stangs also has anemic 6 bangers that barely moved the car. Now there's a 4 cylinder that's capable of 3x the power. Still think the mustang only deserves the V8? Again, it's 2011, not 1964.

New Stangs don't tickle my fancy in the looks department personally. They may be fast and all but I just cannot get into the looks of em.

I thought that also but only about the rear. Now I freaking love em. Im a fan of the 05-09 also but they are starting to look a little weird to me just because I have gotten use to the 11.

Here are 2 of my favorite 05-09s. Black one is mine, the other is a guy that has been on a couple cruises with us.His car is a beast in looks and power!

Well, after my 99 Cobra I was set on a Terminator and almost had my hands on one but the guy called me a day late to tell me he was ready to sell.I had just bought my 05 the day before and kept it a month because I just couldnt put anymore money in a Windviel blue knowing I really wanted a black one.So I bought the 07 (black Premium) and started modding it but just wasnt satified with the power and my heart was still set on a Termi. The day I took those pics I posted I drove it to Dallas to trade it for a SB 03 Termi but when I got there and drove it I realized the "empire Motors" in Garland TX were a bunch of ****** bags and lied about the engine and drivetrain of the car being perfect. So back home and months and months of searching for the perfect Termi. I found quite a few and my 07 was already paid for but I started researching the 2011 5.0 and it was over.....I just couldnt go back to the new edge interior after the 07 and the 2011 interior is even better IMO.I also got the dealer to pay me what I wanted if I had sold my 07 prive sale which was $18k with 45K on the OD.I can honestly say I am completey happy with the total package of the 5.0 and I am no longer online everyday looking for a Cobra like i used to be. But there is a blower in the works for later......believe that.

What are the chassis dimensions in comparison to my 07 GT? Width, Height, Weight, etc?

I did not believe that direct injected small engines with boost could really compete.......but my 335 is a direct injected, twin turbo inline 6.....and the power curves on these cars is beautiful, and you feel it. Almost no lag, 300/300.

Damper tuning and spring rates revised for a smoother highway ride.New LCAs and firmer stabilizer bar bushings to improve stifness and handling for the corners. This is from what I have read up on.

Nothing scares me more than the complete lack of suspension on my GT. About shat my pants a few times taking corners too fast. First upgrade planned is suspension.

I would have spent a few more grand on a good suspension package. But because I talked my buddy into selling at such a bargain price I'm dealing with the cost of my investment.

Thanks for the heads-up. More money savings = more car parts or copious amounts of cheap miller beer.

Most people who like the new taillights say that "they grow on you" but a great looking car needs no time to grow on you, when I first saw the 05-09s it was an instant "those cars are sexy!" and of course right now there's an over abundant amount of them out there but that's because they're the getting older and more people can afford them. Give it alittle time and 2010s+ will be everywhere too. I plan to keep my 06 as clean as possible so that when nice ones become more rare it will really stick out. Anyways boo for those damn taillights from the future.

That's ok the only things you will see on the 5.0 will be the tail lights anyways, lol.I think everything takes time to grow on you except a beautiful woman......but that's just me.

No way it shouldn't have to grow, if it had to grow on you that means that they didn't appeal to you right away therefore making them not so attractive till you get one have no choice but to like them

I never said nobody liked them, plus duh the newer models are bound to win those over a older modern mustang. I clearly was only talking about the tailights not the entire car anyways.
