Car help!

Maybe this isn't sucha good question to ask but I need help! I got a buddy of mine selling me a Pontiac gto with a 454. He restored it from top to bottom and he's asking 15 for it. Its black and red. What do u guys think?

I was gonna say that lookd like an Olds 442...I'd jump all over that IF it's clean. Those carbed cars can be a pita if they have problems...

Yeah that's exactly what it is. I just got finished checking it out. My battery was dead so no pictures today it's all clean. I only got to drive it in a busy street so I wasn't able to light the tires lol. Is this thing posi? I don't want to ask my bud cuz he takes really good care of that car (second owner after his dad) and he might think Im going be doing crazy things in it. Which I am.

I'd scoop it up. Definitely wouldn't mind having that in the garage has a summer driver when I go around town for a little joy ride

It depends...I believe it was an option on a lot of the ponycars/muscle cars back then. Some came with the posi unit with steeper gears...some didn't.

I don't know too much about the 442's as far as that stuff.

I don't think it'd sound bad to ask...just ask him what rearend's in it...what gear ratio and if it has the posi unit, or limited slip...sounds better than just asking if it has posi.

i see..hmm man thats a great tip.. lol . thanks . im meeting with him again this weekend and we'll see what happens.. ill keep you guys posted
