Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant anyone use?

In that case I would probably use it on my work truck but not the 5.0 and not the f-150. I have a bottle of A.A. Dressing that I used to shine up the undercarriage of the 07 with but haven't touched it since I sold that car.

Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant anyone use?

I would probably stay away from Armor All Wheel products, maybe all of their products.

I used the wheel cleaner spray once (got in a pack as a gift) and it caused one of my rear wheels to start peeling. Luckily I've replaced that since then.

I don't use any wheel chemicals/mixtures on my wheels anymore.

Me either. The aluminum rims clean right up with s towel and sometimes water if the brake dust is bad enough. Btw that reminds me, I gotta get new pads, mine are those cheap *** brakes. Lol

Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant anyone use?

I clean my wheels with soap and water. But I also never let them get dirty enough to warrant using any type of cleaner other than soap and water.

Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant anyone use?

I use hot shine from who ever makes it, meguiars I think. I generally dont like tire shine due to it slings all over your car... if you dont notice then then look closer when you clean teh car next time.

I use Hot Shine, too. It's at least a little easier to aim and control than most of the foam stuff, and I only have to use it once a week.

Black magic is what I think it's called. I never spray directly on the tire,I will always use a foam applicator and I usually wash and detail my car the night before I take it out so it sits in the garage overnight and dries so I don't sling and dressing on the car.
This will be my last bottle of the black magic. I'm gonna switch to the Adams VRT so I can use it on the plastics as well.I've seen some 2010s with dried out plastics so I want to keep them conditioned but I doubt mine will get dried out seeing how it rarely sees alot of sun.

Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant anyone use?

Yah I never spray the tire wet directly on the tires...overspray gets on the paint and on the actual wheel, which could cause peeling or worse.

I use the Eagle One tire applicators to actually apply the dressing. Spray it on and wet the tire. It's a must to let the car sit and allow the dressing to dry fully. Do it when you know you won't have to move the car for a while.

I might have to try the Adams VRT products too...looked pretty nice on the vids.

I don't use a wheel protectant. I just keep mine clean with soap and water. And polish them too. On tire shine I spray it on a applicator pad and then wipe it on the rubber. You have to let it dry for a while or it will sling on the car.I do have some eagle 1 keep clean for wheels I've never tried it guess I could. But my car stays clean.

The magic stuff looks cool but it's not going on my wheels. As for tire dressing I use optimum opti-bond. I never have a problem with sling, lasts atleast a week and a half and my car is my DD and sits outside 24/7. An OTC I would reccomend is megs high endurance gel. People seem to get pretty good durability though I haven't used it myself. My father likes the eagle one wet for another dressing. There's so many out there just find one you like and stick with it

Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant anyone use?

Pulled the wheels off the Focus this afternoon, needed to rotate tires anyway.

Set all 4 clean wheels on the driveway and gave each a good coating of this new product.

I'll give some updates. Car is driven a minimum of 350 miles a week, will be closer to 600 miles this coming week so it should be a good test.

What is "this new product"? Are you talking about the VRT?

Really.......really? Try being a little more discriptive about what you are talking about before you fly off the handle next time. There were several different products mentioned throughout this thread. Jesus christ.

Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant anyone use?

Initial results after 300 miles, wheels are dirty. A little less dirty than usual, but dirty. Another 300 miles to come before Monday, will update again when I think about it.

as for the protectant, I used it on my truck a while back, and I have to say, it was decent, I mean my wheels stayed cleaner longer, but for you to use it or not is up to you. it takes like an hour or two to properly "set and dry" from how I took the directions.

Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant anyone use?

Put it on last weekend, 700 miles later the wheels are dirty. I suppose I could have been a little more patient on the application...but I see no difference.

I drive 2,000+ miles per month in my car. That's 500 a week. I wash my car once a week, my tires and wheels stay relatively clean using soap and water. If I'm going anywhere special, I spray a little Hot Shine on them, but otherwise, they're good to go.

Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant anyone use?

Got a little over 2000 miles on this wheel protectant so far. Haven't washed the car with anything but rain and...well honestly the wheels are looking pretty good. They're not perfect but don't show anywhere near the brake dust they used to.
