Re: Want to Mod and have Warranty READ THIS!

I had to quote the Magnuson-Moss Act a while back when I took my Roush in to the dealer for the air bag recall. They connected their computer to the car and it detected that I had an aftermarket tune loaded. The air bag system is controlled by a separate processor, but the tune still showed up. They informed me that the remainder of my warranty was void, even though there was no damage to the vehicle! It took a letter from an attorney to get the warranty reinstated and a long trip to another dealer to get the recall fixed.

technically the Magnuson-Moss act is not going to protect your air bag system from the tune being changed even though they are unrelated based on the above article. The dealership either didnt know their rights, the article is wrong, or they didnt want to fight it and just fixed it.
