99GT vs. 01GT - Mustang Evolution

99GT vs. 01GT

Hey guys my friend is looking to get a mustang he found a 99GT 5spd with 130k miles for 7grand, then there is a 01 GT 5 spd with 117k miles for 8 grand, beside the few body styling differences is everything else the same? I know they both have the 4.6 but idk about the hp#'s if anyone has any input it's appreciated

Yea powerwise its all same. The heads are different thats pretty much it. The 99 has 13 bolts on the valve covers and the 01 has 11 bolts on the valve cover.

Trans is different. Heads are different. The mid 01 up for some reason make better power. Some say the compression ratio is slightly higher but im not sure. The heads on the 01 up are better though. Dont blow plugs out nearly as often. Mass air sensor is different pre 01 the intake temp sensor is seperate and mid 01 up its built in to the MAF sensor. Water pump is different slightly. Fan is slightly different as well. Belt tensioner is different and then the obvious head lights center consol some interior buttons ect.

And gauge clusters are different.
