20 gauge to 18 gauge

Im running wire from my window motor from what I believe to be a 20 gauge power wire(i think the old sun visor light wire) to an 18 gauge wire for the window motor...i will be running a fuse,but does this sound kosher or sould I run a seperate 18g positive wire?...
