Help me spend my money.

Okay so I've got a 2002 GT with flowmasters, ram air, k&n cold air, and lowered. I've got about $1,000 to spend on some upgrades. What should I start with? I was thinking about pulleys, headers, a tuner, 3:73 gears and the BBK throttle body/upper plenum combo. What are your thoughts? Thanks for any help.

I might not have enough for EVERYTHING listed but those items are what I'm looking at. I think I'm leaning more towards some shorty headers. I mean is there a major difference in shorty and equal length headers. My car is mostly for the street so I don't wanna do some crazy *** high performance headers if it's not necessary.

Re: Help me spend my money.

Definately the Tuner and GEARS, I'm not really agreeing with Throttle Body, Headers, heard they were not woth the spence by Techs, that did my HP stuff. Pulleys I stayed away from because of the Elect power lose that my Stereo would notise. Our Mustangs stock are not that badly done, so I don't see a purpose on buying Headers. Many will disagree with what I've just stated, but I'm sticking with what I said. Tuner & Gears, yes, yes, yes.

Re: Help me spend my money.

gears alone will cost you probably 500 bucks, the rest get a shifter if manual trans (for sure get a shifter if you have a manual)

for the other 500 you could look into a tuner/tune and get a tuner/tune from someone that you can get updated tunes from and they will work with you to find tune it.

Re: Help me spend my money.

Yah imo the most bang for your buck will be the gears and tuner...with install that'll damn near suck up that $1k, but it'll be worth it. The gears will distribute power throughout the powerband better and the tune will adjust for the gear changes, as well as tires and possibly squeeze some extra ponies out (depending on octane).

The intake, plenum, headers, all bolt ons that do something, but not a ton in the long run. You can always add those parts and adjust your tune.

Re: Help me spend my money.

Okay well I'm looking at some 3:73 gears and I found the SCT 3015 SF3 Power Flash Handheld Tuner for $379.99. Do any of you fellas know anything about the tuner that I mentioned? I also found the SCT Livewire Flasher / Tuner but that thing is $530 and from what I've read about the two they're pretty much the same except the $530 one is a little more visually pleasing. Can anyone confirm that I'm going down the right path here before I go and spend my money? Thanks for everyone's input, definately helped me get my priorities straight.

The SF3 will work fine, I'm using that one. The other one is just fansier and more $$, Thats all. Gear choice is good, you should notice a difference right away.

Re: Help me spend my money.

Ya the SF3 is the best deal...just make sure you get custom tunes, not the pre loaded (canned) tunes. AM offers the SF3 with custom tunes for life! That's a good deal. I believe they also offer gear/tuner packages so you can save some coin.
