Re: Mods for a mustang cobra

weight is the big issue here, lets take a 2006 Z06. its 500hp and 3100lbs~ and the aerodynamics of it are good. A 03/04 cobra coupe is 3660lbs and the vert is 120 more lbs.

You will need 125-150rwhp MORE than the Z06 to compete with it. They come with about 430rwhp stock so... I would say you need at least 550-600rwhp to compete and there still may not be a clear winner here.

In order to reach about 500rwhp you would need to port your stock supercharger, upgraded the supercharger pulley, put in colder range plugs, upgrade the injectors, MAF upgrade, upgrade the fuel pump possibly you never know.

The 500rwhp mark is usually about the limit without swaping over to a better supercharger like a Whipple or KB along with the same fuel upgrades etc.

I am currently at 472/493 and I have only done catback, intake, 2.93' supercharger pulley (12-14psi), and a tune. I did not need any fuel upgrades at my level but any more and I will.

03/04 cobras will take 600rwhp and be fine as long as you dont beat on it every day and you HAVE A GOOD SAFE TUNE! (tune is MOST important)

Re: Mods for a mustang cobra

You need a copy of my car! here is a list of cars that I have raced and beaten that are nice fast cars (no 4 or 6 cylinder cars):
- Zo6 (easy from 40ish to 100mph)
- 2003 Lamborghini Mercialogo (pulled 2 cars lengths end of 3rd gear 80-140mph)
- 2012 (Camero SS, not even a race really, he wanted to so I obliged)
- S 55 AMG
- E 55 AMG
(racing was done at track)
Everything that SpcetorV said is very true. Just wanted to let you know whats possible for really! If you want a fast Cobra just install all mods I have listed in my signature. You will be good to go!

Terminator power RULES!
