I have Viper and on happy with it. Only once in 3 years did the alarm go off while I was driving home from PA. That was weird. Happy other than that.

Re: alarm!!!

Had a viper in my old car. Was more of a hassle than doing any good...went off every thunderstorm and had a few starting issues at times with the PATS system. Don't have any in the current cars...if they want the car they can take it, I have good insurance.

Just part of priorities changing. It's just a car, plenty more out there.

And an "alarm" is not going to prevent someone from stealing it... have good insurance, especially in that west coast state.

Re: alarm!!!

I have the "Safe and Sound" system in mine- it integrates witht he vehicle's computer and electrical system. When activated, it completely disables the computer- the car will not start, period. It also comes with glass breakage sensors, attitude sensors and and vibration sensors. I have never had a false alarm- even when I parked near the train tracks. The system was offered as a add-on by the Ford dealer.
