Trade in?

I have a 2009 v6 with 20,000 miles on it but i want a manual gt so i can actually work on the car. Like upgrade cams, exhaust, suspension and more. With a gt i would have alot more performance parts to work with. I found a 2001 cobra thats a manual and convertible with 60,000 miles on it. I might be able to trade mine in and get the cobra and a little cash as well. Is it a good idea?

Higher insurance, more gas, expensive gas, more expensive maint are are all things to consider on the con side of pro V. Con. Sounds like it's something you want and you only live this life one time....

If you can handle the added expenses go for it you only live once.

Re: Trade in?

insurance may or may not go up, check and see

a higher mileage car will have more upkeep/issues even if its not high miles as it gets older its just part of it~

I would look into an 03/04 cobra if you can afford around 20k as they are the BEST bang for the buck period. (600hp for not much invested... not bad huh?)

Re: Trade in?

going from an 09 to an older Stang would be a down grade
except for power the 05 up cars are better in every way
quality , ride , options etc ...........

Yeah but it would have more miles on it than this 2001 has and itd be in worse physical shape or at least all the ones i checked were.

I had/have the same issue. I plan on keeping the 6er for a while I think and saving up for a 50th anniversary GT. I was looking for a 03-04 Newedge GT, but all the ones I see out there are more than I want to spend and have more miles, or are Automatics, if they are 5speeds they have been heavily modded.

Well honestly im looking at any model gt to trade in for. Id like a newer one but the cobra i found just kind of stood out to me because well its a cobra, manual and had low mileage at a good price. I think i might wait for like an 05-06 manual GT to come up though. And yeah i know you cant ever seem to the find the one you want at the right price can you?

I say get what it is that you really want. I traded out if my civic dx(96 110k) for my 95 GT auto cause it was exactly what I was looking for. Point is, you have a really nice and it is obviously not exactly what you want. Be patient because what you want is out there and you don't have to jump on the first available. Posting for opinions here will help, but an in person voice of reason is what will help. A gf or wife usually won't work. GF's are like ya it's nice, wife's and moms are like do you need that. You need a buddy to help you say ya that's your car and it seems mechanically sound, or hey it's a dog walk away... Good luck with the hunt. 
