gas milage

l have an 04 v6 automatic 3.9L musty that I bought a few months ago. I got all 4 tires replaced new, got an alignment. changed oil n filter. but to me it seems like it's consuming more gas than it should be. I only use 91 octane. is this model known to use up that much gas? I'm doin 80 miles per quarter tank.

Oh, well yeah, considering our cars only get like 20 if we're lucky... If I drive mine aggressively enough, I'll only get about 16mpgs

Nope, other than audio. I'm looking to get an 04 SVT cobra once I get out of high school so I'm not wasting mod money.

Are you calculations with or without hammering the go pedal?

Re: gas milage

Is your car tuned to use 91 octane?

Re: gas milage

Your mileage seems kinda low. My wife's 2002 V-6 Mustang Convertible usually gets 24-29 MPG.

Why 91 octane? If your computer has not been tuned for it, you will not get any benefit from the higher octane. Some cars will actually get worse economy if high octane fuel is used.

no I doubt the computer has been tuned for the octane. I used it because it felt like it gave it a little more push. but I did notice the sudden drop in milage. how do I tune the computer?

It will not give you more push unless your tuned for it.you can buy a tuner or a chip.advancing your timing and/or tuning for higher octane will be the best way it would be noticable.
