Just my luck......

So I just had my clutch replaced about 2 months ago in my 03 v6. One of the main reasons that I replaced it was because my throw out bearing was really worn out and was sqeaking all the time. Now this week my new bearing is starting to sqeak again. So now what..... I'm not spending another $300 to just get the throw out bearing replaced. Any thoughts/comments would be great.

Almost all release bearings squeak and or chirp. Likely just going to have to get used to it. It's when they start screaming when you have to worry about the locking up and causing damage.

It only makes noise when there is no pressure on the clutch pedal. As soon as I apply pressure its quiet, which is exactly what it was doing before. So how long will I have with the bearing until it has to be replaced?

Likely a long time. I wouldn't worry you'll know if it ever goes bad it will be so loud you'll know it's about to die(from my exp). You have to think that thing is turning all the time. I'm told you can coat them in white lithium grease and that will 'help' not guarantee itl stay quite. Was told before the only ones you can count on staying quite are centerforce bearings. I know before you could buy the separately for about $35 bucks. Don't know if they work w/ a V6 or your clutch.

And don't ride with your foot on the pedal to quite the bearing you will cause premature clutch wear from what I was told.

Re: Just my luck......

i had a throwout go out a week after replacment... Ford had to do it again... still didnt last

I went through 4 of them, still didnt get it right

adjust your clutch and take up some slack in the petal so its firm at the top but you have a half inch of pushing it in before the rpms jump up while holding the gas steady (while driving))
