Just curious, but why do you want to go more than 115? Do you race somewhere?

Re: Govenrer/rev limiter removal!!!!

According to the great book of mustang the v6 is restricted to 112 mph while the GT is limited at 143 mph. According to ford, they made the top speed on the v6 so low due to the softer suspension...... what a crock! My very first mustang was a 1998 V6 convertible, I lived in Virginia in the mountains whare there was little to no police ever and was constantly being limited by the governer! that 98 mustang was restricted to 125mph and I can remember getting so agervated.... I would be going 125 it would hit the limiter then kick down into overdrive and just sit at like 3200rpm like it was laughing at me!!! just imagine how fast it would have gone if it had the rest of that rpm band to drive threw. Because of this I only buy Gt v8 with manual transmission

I don't think I've even gotten mine over 80.... I'm too nervous that I'll get busted. I had to take a defensive driving course last year for speeding

A couple of things to note:
1. There are plenty of places to experience the so-called thrills "legally", whether it be at your local drag strip, road course, autox, etc. to experience the full capability of your car. Doing so on the street is dangerous & you are crazy to do so.
2. Removing the rev limiter won't do you much good as once you get that high up in the RPM range, you actually start to LOSE power. Most mustangs make peak power somewhere around 5K RPM which is well below your rev limiter.
3. Removing the governor won't help you until you have a more heavily modded car. In a typical 1/4 mile (with a basically stock car), you will be lucky to reach 100 MPH. My GT stock peaked at 101 MPH in the 1/4.

Just my $0.02.

All tuners should be capable of it.

An sct handheld with a bama tune is good. You can check latemodel restoration and see if it's cheaper, they use blow by racing for their tunes. American muscle will price match anyone's price if you want a bama tune.

120 mph in stock GT in the 1/4 mile? What are you smokin? I can tell you have very little racing experience at the track. A car running trap speeds of 120+ mph in the 1/4 mile is an 11-12 second car.

And as for the automatic comment, no my car is a straight shift. Also, more often than not drag racers go with Automatic's in there high horsepower cars because the transmissions actually shift faster than you can manually.

I am not trying to pick on you, but you need to know what you're talking about before you open your mouth. That being said, SCT makes the best tuning products & BAMA tunes thru American Muscle are great.

The stock 2011 gt goes mid 12s at 111. The older ones not so close.

They did right by the new v6 stang too. A 13.7 @ 102 stock. Not too bad for a bone stock 3.7 v6 at all.

Boss is low 12's stock, 9's would require a roll cage at any reputable track

Ok that's enough. This has gone way way off topic, and it's no secret talking about doing these things on public streets is just not acceptable at all. I will be cleaning this up.
