5 speed tranny help......

Alright so I belive that I posted something like this before but its bothering me again. About 2 months ago I had a mechanic (not Ford) replace all of my clutch kit. I wanted to do it myself but I didn't have anyone to teach me how to replace a clutch . After buying all the parts and dropping $300 for labor, I'm having problems again. I'm getting a squeak from what I believe is the TOB again! Some people told me to replace my clutch cable and all of that but again I need someone who has mustang experience to help me with any tranny repairs. I don't believe that anyone on here lives close to me in Florida so this kinda sucks for me at the moment....

I also forgot to add that my clutch pedal has adjusted higher from when I got the car back. It was closer to the floor right after he replaced it, now it is back to where it was before anything was replaced. (Not sure if any of this makes a difference)

Man in my exp TOB are going to squeak eventually, some last longer then others. I had one chirp for two years. Canter Force used to sell one separately for like $40. I've also herd of people putting a light coat of white lithium grease on the bearing itself.

I just replaced mine no more than two weeks ago. I ordered a clutch kit that came with everything: pressure plate, disc, flywheel, TOB, and a few other parts. I went ahead and ordered a centerforce TOB because they are the best and they are usually the first thing to go. They sell them separately and it was $40.

Well I was gladly surprised this morning to have silence. The TOB was quiet this morning

Re: 5 speed tranny help......

Morning moisture usually does that. Strangely enough, NAPA has a throwout bearing that is damn near bullet proof. Had one installed on mine two years ago after the stock one disintegrated.
