Re: Torq wheels 18x8

OK explain to me agian what it is we are doing, I have been around tires in my shop for 8 years now. So you ordered the 18x8s for the V6? is that what your sayin?

although re reading what you have posted, there is no way that a 265 will fit. You will need to stick with the 245 40 18s and call it a day. Honestly it is the best fit for the wheel because you will need a 9" wheel to be able to mount up a 265. Not only that but you will save yourself some money in the long run.

What tires are you going to be getting for the wheels? nitto nt555r's? or what?

no the 265s will not fit... no where even close to fitting. and as far as the tire goes, a couple things to consider

budget
what kind of driving do you do (freeway, or city, how much of each)
weather you deal with
how long are you wanting them to last

So you mean to say 245 / 40 18 is perfect for my car?! So I'll stick with the tire shop recommended.

Re: Torq wheels 18x8

It depends on what your wanting to spend, I mean these Mich's below are probably the best tire you can get for it, but your probably looking at 200 to 250 per tire depending on where your getting them from.

Michelin Pilot Sport AS
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus

but there are other options that are out there. Just make sure you explain to the guys at the tire shop what it is your trying to get out of the tires. and remember its just like buying a car, if your not comfortable getting what YOU want, dont let them push you into a tire you dont want, the number one thing people forget is that YOU are in control as the consumer. Whether its buying the car itself, or the parts to keep them running, You make the decision, not the seller.

Good luck if you have any other questions feel free to let me know.

Re: Torq wheels 18x8

No because with staying in this size your not doing enough change in size to create a difference in the overall height to where your going to sacrifice anything.

Have you ever heard of Big O Tire? if so is there one by you?

---------- Post added at 07:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:03 AM ----------

I'm planning to put new spring on it also. But I have mo idea how much will cost me. I know how much is the spring, but I don't know aside from changing spring what else I need to replace. Do you have any idea? H & R brand for spring will be good from American muscle , what do u think?

Re: Torq wheels 18x8

whatever you do DO NOT put the eagle GT's on your car... here is why

This tire is absolute garbage and we get them back all the time from being total garbage lol

These tires are asymmetrical, meaning they have an inside and an outside, so there is only one way to be mounted, idk what it is about mustangs but they do not like these tires at all. Also there is a reason why these are one of the lowest priced tires in the group.

I always tell people, other than the car itself there are 3 things to never skimp on when it comes to cars

Fluids - oil, flushes, etc
Brakes - pads, rotors, calipers
And Tires.

Just remember you get what you pay for.

and if you go to Big O Tire, tell them an employee from NTB is on your forum with you and told you that he wants the best price you can get him and to treat you well!

as far as the spring, are you saying one broke? or you are wanting to lower the car?

If you do decide to lower it those springs are great, and also look into the Caster Camber Plates. They are needed to help align the car properly. It will keep your tires from wearing improperly

If you are in SoCal in the orange county area the best place to buy tires is at Tucker tire co. They will give you a better price installed than any big O can. They sold me my nitto 555s 20" installed for $275 each The lowest Big O would go for me was $320 each.
