Idk if i blew clutch or tranny

My cousin was trying to burn out but it failed so it started smelling really bad but my car still moves and my clutch pedal is super soft but still goes thru gears just shakes a lot what can it be

Sounds like the clutch is slipping bad

Yeah, sounds like your clutch is toast. How many miles are on yourcar?

Dang. You wouldn't really get a burning smell from the tranny. Other than the soft pedal feel, does the tranny still shift ok?

Yea it's still smooth its just the start of first gear

The whine isn't an issue, it's always there. It sounds to me like your clutch is toast. The grinding in first is most likely because the clutch isn't disengaging correctly unless somehow the syncro got destroyed somehow.

It should be. More things would seem wrong if it was the tranny
