D 1 2 3

Hello,

I have an automatic 2011 mustang. I was wondering of I put the car on gear 1 and went all the way to the red line would it shift on its own?
Also if I put it on 1 can I manually change it to 2 and 3 or will it damage the car in any way?

Thank you in advance

You should be able to shift through the gears without hurting anything. As for the redline shift, I don't know if there's some kinda override that forces you into the next gear. I guess there's only one way to find out! Lol

Re: D 1 2 3

there is no benefit from manually shifting, probably makes the car slower honestly.

Haha me too!! I was asking because I was planing to race my friend's 08 350z and i was checking what's faster and they say it's a drivers race. What does that mean? I have an automatic so I'm just gonna hit the has pedal is there a special technique I am not aware of?

If its down to who's driver mod is better and you have an auto.. All you can do is keep it in D and floor it. Whoever gets the holeshot will win, if y'all are even. Good luck AT THE TRACK!
