dual exhaust

Was reading an article that most of the dual exhaust on cars today are fake. Are they real on the GT? My guess is, they are.

I don't understand why they do that. Maybe a back pressure thing.. I had a camaro that had a y pipe with one muffler and two exhuast pipes going out. Weird. I chopped them off.

The gt's are true.

I don't know about our mustangs, but I Knorr that the dual exhaust on my truck is fake. It come down into one muffler then forks out to two tips.

Re: dual exhaust

A true dual exhaust starts at the headers. There must first be separate headers that have their own collectors. These 2 separate collectors must maintain their own pipes all the way to the back of the vehicle to the mufflers. If a vehicle has a Y-pipe combining the 2 separate pipes it is no longer a true dual. if there is some sort of cross over (h or x pipe) then it is still a true dual. Yours is a true dual

I am sure you got rid of at least 2 of those cats on each side, right?

ahaha Well, i think they just Added more cats for strict smog laws. Some gts had em some didn't, it was weird.

That wAs very poorly executed. Without those cats you got a nice car tho.

Mine actually didnt sound that bad. I first took the mufflers out and it just bellowed inside the car so then i put glasspacks in there, and for what it was, it sounded decent.
