Yup, it looked brand new. It didn't look too dark. Too bad you can't try it on something to get an idea how much brightness you would lose from the tail lights.

That big piece of rusted metal in the picture with the bolt in the middle. Check to see if that rattles. I had a 98 that squeaked and made all kinds of noise. One day I got under it and that piece had so much play in it. The bushings had wore out. Just an idea.

Alright it started to idle rough so I'm thinking it was from that crack. And I know nobody is going to like this and if it is a terrible engine threatening idea tell me so I can fix it properly. I just don't really have the money to be buying a whole bunch of stuff.... What's the melting point of duct tape anyway? And when in doubt, get the duct tape out. Also my RPMs are dropping way low like 200 when comming to a stop with the clutch in any ideas?

Does it seem like it wants to die? Do your rpms stay low or bog then go to normal idle? Does she ever shut down when you come to a stop going down the gears?

No never bogs down never really seems like it's going to die, it runs excellently when driving. And when the RPMs drop its when I'm almost stopped with the clutch in. But it just bounces back up to 600 or wherever normal idle is. And the idle was fluctuating a tiny bit, but I duck taped it :-\ and went for a quick drive the RPMs were still dipping down but the idle was fine.

Yeah 2 of the mounts on my CAI, where the heat shield meets the MAF section broke so there was a big gap. And still is. It was running fine but for the last 2 days I have noticed my idle has been fluctuating when sitting at a stop light or something and it has never done that before. But I'm thinking my spark plugs do need to be changed I'm sure. So that could be a problem too I would think but i dont know. My car is falling apart and it doesn't even have 50,000 miles yet

Can you get that piece replaced? Anything cheaper first than going.with plugs- of course never a bad idea. Might have a cold cause of it, cold= no good breathing

I don't think so, Azure suggested that I see if I can find one at a junk yard, but other than that I don't know. I need to start looking.

My first guess on the idle would be air leaks around where it's cracked. Its probably letting air bypass the MAF and confusing the ECU. I'm surprised that doesn't make the ECU throw a CEL. I've have heard running this way is bad for your engine. Getting a MAF or MAF body from the junk yard is probably the cheapest fix. From your pics, it looks like that's all you needed. Looks like the circled part is cracked...

Yeah thats what i was thinking but its right before the MAF so i was also thinking it would not do anything because the whole intake is up there and its letting air in right before the crack. So alittle more air i would not think would do anything but i dont know.

Probably run funny, only if air is not being measured by the MAF. Also, duct tape = 100 MPH tape as well. Hehe Hope you can find a cheap solution

I dont see what that would accomplish / i need the shield to have the filter on it. Unless i just run it without a filter.

Just seeing if it would change the idle, never mind though. Running with no filter, might as well throw dirt in yourself

Against my better judgement I dropped the top on the way home. I did pick up some chick fil a for lunch on the way home though. I think the food was actually warmer when I got home than when I picked it up.

Experienced my 1st flat tire luckily it was at work and had all the tools I needed to use. Except a low profile jack so my boss brought his from home so I cld use it. My tire got a 4 in slash and I ordered new tires two weeks ago but takes 2 weeks to arrive. So I used the spare and to my luck also had a puncture hole. After debating whether to leave my car overnight at work "which I just couldn't do" I used a fix a flat and prayed it would last me till I got home lol

Glad you didn't have to leave her at work!

Time to check my jack and its ability to fit under and lift her up.
