As others have said, I couldn't believe the difference a tune has made. My wife knows nothing about cars, and when we took it for a spirited ride the other day, she said "It feels faster...like I'm getting pushed back in my seat more". Then I broke the news that I bought a tuner.

You'll love it!

You get used to the tune after a while. And when you revert back to stock, the car feels unresponsive. That's what happened when I reverted to stock tune. And that's with 3:55 gears.

It showed up today. Shoved the performance tune in it on lunch and took it out for a spin. Could actually tell a difference. Car seems more peppy.

Filled it with 91 octane (highest I can find at most stations and what my race tune is set for) and shoved race tune in the computer. It will actually blaze tires from a rolling start in first. Weeeeeeeee!

Went for a drive to canal park in Duluth last night. The Bama performance race tune works excellent. And even with driving hard I still managed 23mpg.

Today, we drove back from Glacier National Park to Spokane, WA via highway 2. This is a beautiful scenic, forrested two lane drive. We were blessed with very little traffic for the first 150 miles -- it was like we had this entire road all to ourselves. 63 degrees with the top down and heated seats on made our day, as it was nearly 100 degrees again when we got home!!!

Car is getting the hood pins today. I was going to do them myself after my friends couldn't get with me, but my wife said "that hood is too expensive, there are only a couple of them, and I think that the professionals need to do it" - she had visions of me cutting into that hood and got scared! So dropped it at the shop so they can do it. While it is there they are going to check out a rattle that comes on at 40 mph. I think it is a heat shield and maybe a clamp on the exhaust; it isn't rpm dependent, only speed and it comes and goes so something about the harmonics starting at 40 mph sets it off.

Then tonight, with the pins installed, I can go out and get the next set of data logs for MPT and get this turbo finished and to the track.

I finally put on the half-leather and half-alcantara steering wheel from the newer Mustangs on my s197. I think it was a Shelby steering wheel but I bought it so long ago I can't remember. I got a good deal but it was lightly used and the previous owner had connected everything his way lol so it was confusing. At least the cruise control works! and the airbag didn't explode on my face!
It's amazing how the smallest mods can make your car feel totally different. This steering wheel and the shift knob from AM gave my car a better feel.

I also threw in a Kenwood DDX492 today and it wasn't that bad. I will get the steering wheel controls working eventually but I need that clockspring adapter. I bought an amp and some 8in. kicker cwrt shallow mount subs for the doors, so I'll post that when I have it up. I also bought a backup camera but it hasn't gotten here yet. I know it may have been stupid to just not do everything at once but I didn't want to be overwhelmed and I wanted to do something today!

Here's some pics of the interior and my ride, I never posted any on the forums before

Got an email saying my transmission rebuild kit has been shipped from broaderpreformance.com . Then ordered the rest of the tools to rebuild my transmission. Can't wait to get it rebuilt and beat on her again.

Still trying to find someone willing to put the Aerocatch hood pins on the car; I'd do it myself, but my wife for some reason is concerned about me cutting up the hood!

And I loaded version 8 of the turbo tune from MPT. They want some more data and added some parameters to the list. When I get a chance, I will data log another pull from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm in third gear for them. This one has some transmission tune changes for daily driving; I told them that the tune was a little harsh for daily driving, and they modified it based upon what they did for daily driving on their own turbo 2.7 automatic.
