Not doing the Fogs because I am not sure that I'm keeping the grill. I want to buy the GT500 grill with the Fogs in the middle. Also want Matte Black hood pins as well.

Went down to the oceanfront today to cruise around and noticed all the attention I was getting. For 5.99 in paint, and about the same in tape, I think it was well spent. Maybe one day I can upgrade something more expensive:

Rims, Whipple, etc. Lol

I was going to have a car shipped from NY to Cali, when I moved. I think they were called Interstate Transport. As it turns out, I wound up driving across, but they seemed professional. I had a friend use them to transport her car from San Francisco, to Upstate NY. Aside from needing a good wash, it was picked up, and dropped off when promised. I hope it works out for you!

I've read some horror stories about shipping cars, but generally they go well.....with reputable companies. The thing is, there are not enough people shipping cars, so car carriers have to get a full load before it makes it worthwhile to them to charge you a reasonable rate. It's not like it's FedEx/UPS/etc and everybody and their brother is shipping something. Cars need special carriers, and need a full load, unless you want to pay through the nose. I bet if you ask them about these aspects, they will tell you the same thing. What's important is that you verify their reputation/ratings by previous customers.

And when you do get to the point of loading it, do something like having your own document that shows a snapshot of the miles and have the driver initial it and tell them it's for the insurance company. Hey, it really could be useful for the insurance company! That way you're setting the stage for how many miles it is starting out with and it should have the same amount (or nearly that) when it is dropped off.

If you wanted, you could go as far as putting a cell phone in it with an app like Google Latitude on it, activated and tested, and with a USB cable plugged in to an "always on" power port, and you could watch it travel down the road on your computer....or some variation of that. On my 2012, the center console has a lock and an always on power port, but I don't know about your model year. Or you could get a GPS tracker that has a battery that lasts for weeks, or even years, on one charge. I know it's not what you asked, but it's something I would consider after the horror stories I've heard, especially with a nice car like yours.

Thought I would share. Last august I bought an 06 Pontiqc GTO on ebay with 32000 miles on it for 11 grand. The shipping company verified everything and loaded it up. I got a call 5 mins later and they managed to fail to tie it down and it was on the top deck of a multi car transport. It fell off and was completely totaled. They covered all my costs but ill never find a deal like that on a car that clean again.

Re: What did you do with your Mustang today

DaBluedude, That's a terrible story, but the cynical part of me (I'm generally very optimistic) says that 5 minutes (or whatever short period of time it sounds like they called) was too short, and there could have been something fishy going on. The person you bought it from would likely have seen it happen in such a short period of time.

Maybe the driver liked the car so much they cut a side deal? Who knows. If they don't secure a car down, and they are supposed to be professional car haulers, this just doesn't make sense. Did you get a VIN number? If you were curious enough, you could run a CarFax report and see if it was actually marked as having been totaled or transferred to someone else's name. Just a thought. But I'm with you on the deal that got away, however it happened.

---------- Post added at 06:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:09 AM ----------

jjsg09, It *is* very nice and clean! I'm trying to keep mine as nice as yours, but I'm also trying to decide if I stop any further mods and try to get a 50th anniversary edition when they come out. I manage the technology at my company and with previous cars have *many* times had to haul stuff from one office to another and vowed never to do that with this car. I've sliced and diced seats in previous cars, dirtied up the carpet, and scratched the interior plastic of the cabin and trunk, all inadvertently, but it inevitably happens when you are moving cardboard boxes, metal case computers, tools, etc. I've at least limited this to nothing in the back seat (I don't even keep the original floor mats in the car - I use junky old carpet almost all the time), and only very little in the trunk padded excessively. Whether I keep this one or get a 50th anniversary edition, I want mine to look as nice as yours!!

While driving I started getting a really loud vibrating noise at 2K rpm. And for like 100 notifications from M.E. It was freaking annoying.
