That is painful just to look at. What's the status did the cops say it was his fault, it seems it was...did he get a ticket? Sorry for you injury, hopefully you get it repaired soon.

Oh god don't remind me. . I just got her back from the shop the day before too. Idk. He said I was passing in a no passing zone, but I was going straight, the other guy was bearing right and then cut the wheel left trying to make a turn and hit me. I didn't get a ticket. I'm not sure if he did. He was a 17 y/o kid in an old BMW. -.- have to see how much it's gonna be and if his insurance will pay for this. I'm sure it's gonna cost quite a bit.

Re: Bad new guys.... Car accident

file a claim with his insurance provider. they will have one of their adjusters look at it and give you an estimate. then you can either take it to a shop that they recommend or have em cut you a check.

Rather take the check. I have connections in that area. I'm just afraid they'll say I was at fault and try to get out of it. I found out that after the cops told me to leave they called an ambulance for him. Even though he told everyone he was fine.

He had a prior snowboarding incident. He broke ribs and punctured a lung.

Don't worry too much, the insurance people have excellent investigators. When I had my first accident, they called me like a week later saying they were pressing charges on the lady I hit for insurance fraud even though initially the accident was my fault. They found out that she had staged the whole thing so I didn't have a choice but to hit her as part of an insurance scam.

Oh damn. Well did you look at the pictures? Think I'll win even if the cop wrote I was passing?

If its just your word against his and all they have to go on is the damage. It's gonna look like you cut him off. Unless you have witnesses?

I sped up to give myself a lil more room to pull in front of the truck, but when I sped up so did he. So I slowed down to get behind him and he slowed down, basically trapping me in the left lane. So I slammed on the brakes but slid into her car doing 15 or 20. Only did minor cosmetic damage to my old jeep but totalled her Altima. She said she was fine at first to me and the cop, but then later started to complain of neck pain. Insurance found out her and the black truck were in on it together and there may not have been anything I coulda done to not hit her since it was an organized scam.

I saw the pics but without looking at the damage in person it'd be hard to say for sure what the investigators will say. I agree with primer however that unless u can find some witnesses there's a good chance it'll look like u were cutting him off sorry.

I had two passengers in my car. He was alone. The thing was is he was bearing right where as I was going straight. The cop could say I easy passing BUT if that was the case when is served out of the way wouldn't I have gone off the road and slid into the gaurdrail..?

Obviously this is a poor drawing. But he's the red car who randomly turned left to try to make a quick u-bie and I guess make that turn.(A) and to the left of me there's a little bit of grass and then gaurd rails.

Infront but off to the right because that's where he was beating towards. He had no blinker on at any point in time.

Of u had two people in ur car, get them to sign sworn statements of what happened. With their testimony and the damage justice will prevail!

If you two were traveling down the same road and were crossing the intersection at the same time when he struck you. It's really going to look like you were trying to pass him at the intersection.

You said he was about to make a U-turn? Did he pull over to the right and that's when you tried to go by him?

Today was the first day i had gotten around to reading an accident thread, and i believe i cursed myself. On the way to work tonight it was raining so bad i was doing 55 in a 75 and still managed to lose traction and fly across three lanes of traffic into a grassy median. Thank god i work so late that no one was around for me to hit, and the only thing wrong with the car was the streak of mud behind the rear tires. Guess the mustang was so hungry she just couldnt help but go grazing in the nearest field lol

Jeez. I do that daily but I'm not supposed to. I also have a radar detector though and it works pretty good.

He was between the lines but the lanes opened up to split off so he was beside me. And he was slowed down. I slowed down going past gun though. I was only in 4th slowing at 45mph. Speed limit is 50mph.

Dosent matter. if he didnt have a signal on and u were behind him he was between the lines and at an intersection u are not to pass sry to say it but this ones on u. Theres a little grey area because he didnt signal to turn left but ur not allowed to pass in intersections period! He did not signal a lane change there for u should have remaind behind him till past the intersection wear its safe to pass again. Its to bad i was hoping ud of said something else and i hate to be the barrer of bad news but thats it u should not have passed and had no right to do so at the intersection.

Lol I wasn't passing. I was continuing to go straight. I didn't even cross over the line.

Missxalli, is it a possibility that he was pulling over to make a U-turn and didn't see you because you were in his blind spot? That would make sense and show that the other party was at fault. At the intersection is it even legal to make a U-turn? If not, find out and if he admits he was making a U-turn, you might have a case in your favor.

No there's no way it's legal in that intersection. A and C have stop signs. And it might have been possible that he didn't see me. I don't know how he couldn't see the lights though. We were the only two cars on the road. I have HID's.
