That really sucks.

I have connections to a body shop guy in ford so I'm going to have him do it. I'm just waiting for all the insurance BS to go through so I can figure out who's paying this.

Don't go to Maaco my dads car was hit and the company uses Maaco to fix the cars. They completely half assed the job. They left a dent in the door included in price. They billed for replacing the bottom skirt, didn't do it. They are a joke pure laziness. A good body shop won't rip you off, and they should warranty the work.

Maaco is basically everywhere. It depends on the workers I think. My friend paid 900 to get his 97 gt painted from white to black about 4 years ago and it's still in great shape besides all the rock chips on the bumper (he commutes 3 hours to school every day). I think if any one goes with maaco make sure u are there to see them do the work. That's what my friend did. It did take a long time for them to finish though.

I think MAACO is just a west coast thing... That's why she wouldn't know about it.

Nope. We haven't claimed it yet. It's up to my mom because it's her insurance and she's the "owner" of the car until I pay it off because she was my co-signer. So she might not want to claim it. :/. That means I'm probably going to be paying for this out of pocket.

I don't get why she wouldn't want to claim it, if its the guys fault then its all going to come out of his insurance and yours will stay the same.

Because she says it will raise regardless because it's never 100% anyone's fault.

Its usually either your fault, his fault or equal fault... If it is his fault then it will all go through his insurance and your insurance won't have to pay a dime, its only when your insurance has to pay that they raise your premium. so if they rule that it is his fault and your insurance still goes up switch insurance companies immediately.

We just switched insurance companies so I can't.

Re: Bad new guys.... Car accident

My insurance has never gone up because someone hit me (this has happened more than I care to admit). If your company raises your rates for an accident where you were found not at fault (especially if they didn't have to pay)... find an insurance company that isn't ridiculous.

Hmm. Ours is cheap though. We don't have accident forgiveness either. Only been with them since February/March.

Your insurance company can help you get the money from his. They will even help you in selecting a reputable repair shop.
