Like what? Not many cars at all crest 4,000 lbs. 4400 is EXTREMELY heavy for any car.

There are alot of cars over 4k lbs. Mustang, camaro, challenger just to name a few. My car was 3968 last year before going on a diet

Yours is a vert, right? Also, that must be with you in it because a Vert Cobra is not that heavy. They are around 3600. With a person and some mods/wheels it can get close to the weight you mentioned.

Not many cars crest 4k lbs. He mentioned three cars. 2 of which are wrong. A Camaro SS is 3750 lbs and a Mustang S197 is 3480 lbs. The 5.0 Is approximately 3580 lbs. Even the Shelby GT500 is JUST under4k at 3980ish.

Even the Charger is just under 4100 lbs.

So again? Those are almost 1000 lbs lighter than the Taurus.

4400 LBS is not light no matter how you slice it.

It runs high 13s trapping 98-101 MPH. With 365 HP that is more than unimpressive.

In today's age, a car averaging a 14.0 flat is nothing impressive. Quick sure but not crazy fast as you make it out to be. A 2011+ V6 Mustang would walk it.

Now, someones comment on how they run slightly modded? Well, that is a different story as a Twin Turbo anything can put up nice numbers when lightly modded. But if we are going to compare modded cars, we can look up a 8 second ****ty Civic that will burn all of us left and right.

Good lord gotta be right I was simply playing with that statement I wasn't talking just cars when I stated " heavier than our cars lighter than other " I drive a 5 ton company truck every day at 4400 lbs almost 2.5 tons it's a lot lighter than my work truck .. This whole thread was me mostly saying that the Taurus SHO is a monster to be a grocery getter .. Charger 4365 ..challenger 4203 ..BMW m5 4300 ..02 Z28 Camaro 4200

All I know for sure is that my '04 GT weighs 3675 with me in it!.. That also includes two car seats, two strollers, and a full tank!.. And I myself weigh 180lbs!..

Just throwing all this in there to give some real world numbers!..

That was my car without driver. You forget the weight of fluids make a big difference. Car weighs 3680 this year after a pretty hefty diet. More will be coming off/changed this year as well but it's no small feat getting a modern car to 3500 lbs.

BTW, that was also on 16" rear wheels and 17" front wheels, both lighter than factory with race tires. Moving to even lighter 15" all around this year.

+11. Things like sound deadening materials, stereos, and so on that go into modern cars all add up in the end!.. Cars years ago were much more simplistic in both design and materials used!..

All bad ass cars weighing around 4300 lbs google that no there not as light as our stangs even the 2013 cobra are only around 3600 but for a car that usually only older folk grandparents drive to have a stock 365 hp u can spine it where the sun don't shine it's still awesome

Stock 1ss camaro - 3860lbs. Base, no options, bare minimums (no one orders this way) Add the 2ss package and such and you're easily over 4000 lbs.

People rarely buy base model cars...this thing has gotten way off topic...but then again what threads don't.

Point is there is alot of weight to move around regardless of what vehicle you buy nowadays.

Yes a charger is 4365. It is also not very fast until you enter the SRTs, which then, are getting burned by 4V 5.0s at half the price, oh and 750 less lbs.

An 02 Camaro is NOT 4200. Where are you reading this? They are about 3500 lbs for a manual.

So manufacturer weights do not include any fluids? Because they do. Often weighed with a portion of gasoline.

A Vert Cobra does weigh that much though. I was looking at the wrong year Cobra. I apologize.

That is all dandy but the statement that the SHO is light was the entire gist. It isn't. Not even close.

A lot of the cars you mentioned make much more power as well and an M5 is a luxury sport car. Similar to what the SHO is except the SHO doesn't turn well.

It is a very tunable car but definitely nothing crazy stock.

The Base SS has very nice standard features. Car can also be had in a 6 speed manual and 4000 is STILL a far cry from 4400 LBS. It also has 50 more HP and not AWD.

No question the SHO is cool but it is ungodly heavy.
