Hm... Seems to be exactly what we were saying. Foxbody stopped in 93. 94-98 sn95. 99-04 new edge.

Let me help you.

In 1994 the Mustang underwent its first major redesign in fifteen years. Code-named "SN-95" by the automaker, it was based on an updated version of the rear-wheel drive Fox platform called "Fox-4."

The term 'Fox' refers to the chassis..

I read the stupid article. Sn95 was the name internally at ford..

No need to be that way man.

The 1979 Mustang was based on the longer Fox platform (initially developed for the 1978 Ford Fairmont and Mercury Zephyr).

I'm just trying to find the new information here... We all know the fox platform extended to the 04 model. A fox body is simply the name of the 79-93 body style. I guess next we'll discuss the merits of the term "notch" when discussing fox bodies.

The only way I responded the way I did was your little comment before the response.

As a result of some recent replies in some threads it's clear that we do not all know that the fox platform extended to 04. The only intention is to inform the misinformed.

Ah ok. I thought you were trying to say the fox body term extends the whole way.

Agreed so the chassis design was essentially carried over. The new edge was a design change in the 99 model. The sn95 fox and s197 are the code names ford used to refer to their body designs. Just like terminator and coyote are code names for fords engines.

No. That's exactly where the confusion comes in IMO

FoxBody, SN95 and New Edge all refer to the body parts. Yet they are all Fox platform.

New edge will always be a new edge to me and I knew it was on a fox4 platform/sn95.
There's no way I would call my car a Fox.

People can call their car what ever they want to and calling it a new edge is acceptable but the fact remains it is still a fox

Well it's not a Fox Body.
Whatever you say all mighty smart one. I don't see where trying to prove this point over and over again matters.
I already said I knew what platform it is on.

Note I said fox not fox body after reading all the posts in this thread it's a new edge body style but it is still in fact a fox in terms of design

The chassis platform is fox.
I know what it is. I don't understand the whole proving this point over and over.

I'm not upset with you. I'm simply saying.

I write mustang for a living. I know the platform. Just saying. You bought it up when I said I would call my car a new edge.

Well just arguing with me isnt really helping the thread just gets off topic but yes I agree the new of the mustang is new edge but it's in the fox family so it can technically be called both and wouldnt be wrong

I will continue calling it new edge and I expect no correction of my reference.

Except the sn95 part, that is what they dubbed the platform officially.

I own a fox, sn95, and 2 new edge cars. The chassis is the same but nothing else is shared. Hence foxbody is 79-93.

+1 Besides, it's "from" the fox platform. Call it a fox body, that's like saying its a third generation. It's 4th gen.
