This is theoretical. But both would be stick and both under 100k miles and both bodies would be good and both engines and transmissions would be good.

I would have to say 93 I'm a big fan of the notch back or lx not sure what it's called non hatch lol 5.0 of course. They are also cheaper for parts easy to buy and find parts for

---------- Post added at 06:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:08 PM ----------

Plus mileage wise the 93 would be most likely better taken care of

When I first started looking at getting a new car, the only thing I didn't like is the seats and steering wheel. But those can be changed so it became an option

Re: 1993 5.0 or 2001 4.6?

If you are going to buy a fox make sure the previous owner took care of it or you will have issues with it being a DD,this goes for any 20yr old car. Foxes are light, can made to be fast and are sexy as hell.

Just remember the newest fox is 20 years old. It will have more issues than a newer car regardless of the miles

Based on the mods you listed I'd say the 01. Not that much more expensive over a fox body to do those mods, and it'll be just as fast, along with the fact 01s look better than foxes IMO.

The 99-04 mustangs are faster then the old 5.0 fox body to begin with

Re: 1993 5.0 or 2001 4.6?

If you want an awesome car that's gonna be less expensive to build then go with the fox.

If you want an awesome car that's gonna be a little faster and better sounding then go new edge.

I love both cars pretty equally but for different reasons and it would be a tough choice for me. I would probably go new edge only because I've never owned one, or a 4.6 mustang for that matter

I don't mean this in a mean way but have you ever driven a fox 5.0? I've had both a 90 and a 91 and have driven some of the new edge and it's really not that much faster

New edge might be a tad faster than a bone stock fox body, but where in the hell do you ever see a fox body that's still a virgin? I vote fox body any day. There is a reason over half of all cars at a drag strip on any given weekend are foxes

I'd say 01 for a daily driver (partially biased because that's what I have) and the fox if your wanting something to play with or maybe drag race. Budget also comes into play
