Last night I ended up driving alongside a 10-12 V6. We were both cutting through traffic and rode together for a little while. I passed him and he gave me a thumbs up... Then we got stopped at a light and he said he was jealous of me because he wants a '13... I told him mine is actually an '11, I just painted my tails to look like '13s I keep fooling everybody haha

So, I read much of this thread and I am still not sure what the code is. I am guessing a wave, thumbs up, smile, node, lights flash, or engine rev would suffice. Some one please let this newbie in on the code. Thanks.

First off welcome. And yes that is the basis of the stang code. I do the wave, but were all different

Light flash is a no-no in my book

He wants us mustang owners to acknowledge other Stang owners while driving

I've been trying to abide by the code with a wave but since there are so many different types of owners(gear heads, soccer moms, etc) it's been hit or miss. As a Vette owner and motorcycle rider the "wave" has always been understood. I'll keep trying but the "code" should be in the owners manual.

Everytime i get around another mustang they just want to kick it..Do you evr see any mustang where they try to rice it up..Bigass ugly 3 foot tall spoiler,,skate board wheels that hang out about foot from the body,,and super low,,and they are bouncing everywhere after hitting a bump..Thats mustang abuse ,,lol

There's no mustang code I've seen in south Oklahoma. Just some spoiled brat who doesn't value their car, and trying to race every chance they get. But there are the occasional few who are nice people.

That's true, there are so many people who will buy a Mustang as just another car, they show no respect for the significance in it. Every time i'm with my dad in his Vette and he waves to another one, they always wave back. I guess its just that people don't care about Mustangs as much as people used to.

That's how most people are out here in Germany. I think I have gotten one wave/acknowledgement back. Most people don't care. Sadly its mostly females too.

You would think a head nod or a duces sign would do the trick. But in today's world it's prolly facebook haha

Same way here. Fb app has seen less love ever since I downloaded ME. Mustangs are cheaper so people get them to look nice in so less people care as compared to vette's. I want the Ford GT put back into production. Get that thing then there will be a better code

Hahaha. I do all of those. I'm in Jacksonville FL, spend a lot of time in Orlando area, and most mustangs ignore me. Kind of annoying, when I used to ride a motorcycle, bikers waved, when I'm in my jacked up truck, offroaders wave, when I'm in my brothers C6, vette's wave... Mustangs, pretty rare to get a response.

Wouldn't it be easier just to scream "MUSTANG BROTHERHOOD!!!" Out your window and flash a piece sign? Haha
Or mod your horn to say it in morgan Freeman's voice

Flashing your lights can be dangerous and make the other driver feel as if there is something wrong with their car or that they are doing something wrong. A rev almost always makes the other driver feel like you want to race them. A nod works but is sometimes hard to notice because of glare. Just get their attention with a thumbs up or a piece sign, and have that "'f*** yeah we're driving mustangs'" cocky look on your face

Sometimes when you put a thumb up if they only see it with a glance they can think your flipping them off lmao. People get angry at that and revving and lights flashing

Flashing the lights usually is the courtesy sign that the Po Po (police) are around. Revving your engine? Seriously, that's the universal sign of lets race.

Same here. If you flash your lights where im from you either are warning of a cop radaring or some kind of dangerous object in the road or a wreck or something along those lines. Pretty much a "hey slow down" if you rev your engine your asking to race. A simple wave here is what we do!
