Well hopefully it will all work out around here you go to the regular courts and they can prove innocent or guilty if you don't like the decision that is made you can go to the appeasl court if you do go to appeals first they can issue you that you have another court date if they find that the trail court did something wrong or just adjust your punishment

Up here in Iowa they usually dismiss tickets or drop them to something smaller if you go to court over it,also anything ten and under is a non moving violation. I would try to fight it

Yea, it was like 11 at night, i was cruising behind a older chevy pickup. I honestly had no idea i was going 75. A car passed us going the other direction and i noticed it was a highway patrol because they all drive black and white chargers here. I watched him turn around and flip his lights on and i thought oh great, whos he gonna get the old chevy or the mustang. Guess who he picked. Me. I went to the district attorney. Told him it was my first offense. He said dont let it happen again and dismissed the ticket and told me to go pay court costs. So that was 100 dollars. Alot better and it didnt go on my record, so no insurance increase!

Look up how to do a Trial by Declaration. It's a written defense instead of in person. Police officers get overtime when they show up to court, but not when they have to respond in writing. Many wont respond and you win by default. If they do respond, you'll probably automatically lose, but then you just file for a trial de novo (new trial) and do the traffic school. I've done this once, it is free, and it worked.

Until you need help, then maybe they'll have something better to do.

I had one almost as bad 109 in a 70 so 29 over. Paid $180 but the cop gave me a break and didn't cite me for reckless driving because he said I was respectful and didn't try to feed him a load of crap. when he pulled me over he asked me why I was going so fast I told him the truth, it was a beautiful day and I was just cruising. Of course this was in '05 so I'm sure it would be more now.

Fl, GA, MS are pretty cheap when it comes to ticket cost. I got
pulled over twice in my 97' Cobra. Once heading west on I10
heading into Talahasse, 91 in a 70 think it was only $150, then
again a year or two later heading to New Orleans from Pensacola.
Right across the state line in AL again in the Cobra. Is was mid
day and no traffic on the road, I passed the rest area and mashed
the gas heading up hill. Think I had it close to 140mph, approaching
the crest of the hill I backed off it. Wouldn't you know a AL Trooper
in a spot I had never seen one before. He clocked me at 91 again.
Same thing it was only about $150...

Here in LA and New Orleans tickets are sky high, but if you go to
court they will usually change it to a non moving violation. They
just want the income.

When I was in the Navy I would just hand them my License, Insurance,
and Military ID... Got out of more than a few tickets...

Ok, it's been a few weeks since my court date so I thought I would update on the result.

My ticket was 82 in a 70. Ticket cost was about 190. I could pay, and take defensive driving and get it off my record, but I can only do that once a year.

I got the lawyer and he went in for me. The result was 90 days probation, 150 court fee, and I still have to take defensive driving. Plus the 100 the lawyer charged. Needless to say, I was pissed, but he explained why it turned out that way. In Texas, if you get a ticket, you have to take defensive driving no matter what if you are under 25. Im 21..fml So why did I pay him for if it was (almost) the same result? He stated that once I pay the court fee and do the DD, that it would be completely wiped from my record, and it wouldn't count against me for my 1 time each year of DD. So it would be like it never happened. Which is alright I guess.
So I basically paid the ticket, plus 100 to a lawyer to get it off my record. Not to bad, but not the result I was hoping for. I bought a Valentine One radar detector so I would never have to go through this again, since slowing down is not an option haha.

Thats good man! Most important thing is its not on your record! But dont rely fully on the radar detector. Yes it is a huge help but it when you get over confident is when it will get you.

A good officer will not use radar until he sees you. Its the lazy ones who just let it sit on. Unless, their models don't have a shoot function, and are always on, like the rear antenna ones. Not sure if they can shoot or not, I have never used one, just been pulled over by it lol

And no radar detector can beat air craft (to my knowledge).

Exactly, and highway patrols here are taught to be able to tell your speed by their eyes.

Yeah, but they have to have your speed to write you a ticket. They can't just pull you over and say you were speeding.

Not in Ohio. They can say you were going at LEAST a certain speed. A good trick is just using timing. We time howlong it takes to travel a certain distance at x speed. If you drive past that same distance in less time, you were speeding

Well i respect that job very much. My grandpa and dad were both cops at one point in their lives and i know i would hate to have to walk up on a car at 2 in the morning not knowing if they have a gun waiting on you to come up to the window. Scary stuff with all the crazy *** people now a days. I do a dangerous job also but i respect your profession man. I never give cops crap.
