04 mustang GT or 05 Mustang GT

I'm getting ready to upgrade from a 99 v6 to a newer model GT.. I was wondering which would be best? I know the 05's are better performance but I'm real big on sound and style. Which do you guys think would be best? Thanks in advance

I think the S197's are way better looking, better sounding and way better in the performance category. I kind of hate SN95's though.

Ya 05 and up. I didn't like the 96-2004 style at all. Only fell back in love with mustangs when the 05 came out.

I'd have to do the 04. Kinda partial to that body style though. S197 just never felt right

new edge or nothing ! the 2v 4.6 sounds amazing. even though the 3v has more horsies, i still think the 2v is more beasty. the s197's body style looks like a shapeless box . some look pretty nice but i love the new edge body

I like the curves of the 04 better. I'm part of the 1% who would never get a 05-09 over the 99-04... Only thing I'd change is the front bumper. Love the look of the cobra tho. Best looking mustang IMO

If you plan on doing a lot of appearance mods I say new edge, also I think the 2v is the best sounding fuel injected mustang. I like the factory looks of the '05 better. It can still sound awesome too.

Style wise the '04 GT is a better pick!.. But if your going after performance then a '05 or newer is your pick!.. Personally I'll stick with my '04 GT, I just like they way they look a lot better!...

Useless post here, but I seriously doubt many mustang owners are going to be of much help here. Most of us either own one or the other of these body styles, so we're more than likely going to recommend the one we own. I prefer my style, but I also like the 04 as well. If you're leaning even slightly to one, run with it. They're both great.

I agree ,,they look like the 69 mustang,,thats when i fell in love with the mustang..Dont care for the newer ones with curvey tail lights,,the front looks pretty cool though..If i had a bunch of money ,,i would buy the new one,,with the 5.0,,put the back end from the 05,,and the dash from the 05

You really run low 13's? Find that hard to believe sense my 11 5.0 has give or take double your horsepower stock and the best I could ever run was a 12.8 and change. I've got a full bolt on new edge and believe me it is now where close to my 5.0 so I doubt your in "low 13's" to the op if I had a choice I would by a Mach 1 or termi. If you don't have the money just save up its always worth it.

Yea here's my slip. I don't really care if you believe me or not but you also have to know how to drive to get good times so you must be doing something wrong having a bolt on gt and runnin high 12's

Here's my best on streets and missing 4th. (hence the low trap)

Got me a new tranny now (and clutch), so next season should be fun. Goodonya Venom, I'd would be fun as hell to run at the track with ya.
