Oh and ps the hp in the current v6 plus body configuration makes it more muscle car than almost all previous v8's it's not a compact car anymore it's almost mid size and rwd. It's more muscLe car than almost anything pre 2010 with an v8 and rwd

Too bad you might be trading in your stang. If you decide to, hopefully you get a good deal trading in both rides for the BRZ and pick out a blue one.

Hey LOWFLYN

No offense intended but this is the V6 Mustang forum. I'm really sorry to say A Ford Focus is not A Mustang.

Don't get me wrong, I love the new Focus, I was at the dealer looking for A Focus Titanium when the Mustang I bought called out to me to "Take Me home, Please"

I drove a number of different Focus's and as nice as they were they were absolutely nothing even close to Being A Mustang.

Only A Mustang "IS" A Mustang, Ever since 1964.

Post some pictures of your Focus. At least tell us more about it.
Ronnie

No argument there. It's a totally different car with a different purpose. Which is fine--that also happens to be my other car & it's a great little car. But, it's no Mustang.

Let me get this correct, so we should all sell our pre2011 gts and get new v6 to have a faster car? lmfao

When did I say that ? Are you a rocket scientist? Or can you not read. My post which you quoted was in response to others stating that a v6 mustang shouldn't be considered a muscle car and I was stating how the current 6 has more muscle than most previous v8 which were considered muscle cars. So in summation why is out current six not considered a muscle car when previous less powerful v8 where

This site did a pretty damn good job identifying muscle cars. GT, MACH 1, BOSS are considered muscle cars, I understand what you are saying about the new 6ers producing as much power or more than the old v8, but still that doesn't make it a muscle car

All this is a wonderful topic for a new thread. This has nothing to do with OP's original post.

No and a four cylinder has none of the same characteristics. The 6 on the other hand has many v8 characteristics are they the same no but very similar

Seems with the brz you are buying another run of the mill japanese car that no one will remeber in 20 years. At least with the mustang you are buying a nice piece of American history ! Not to mention the stang looks better in about very way.

You can define things the way you want. That's just one reference.

Let's look at another.

I think many will agree that the '69-'70 Boss 302 is one of the ultimate muscle cars of all times. The Boss 302 had 290 hp and 290 ft. lbs. of torque.

By comparison the new 3.7L V6 has 305 hp with 280 ft lbs of torque. I won't even mention the mpg it puts out.

Now in reality this whole debate about what is and what isn't a muscle car is so silly.

Let's get back to comparing the BRZ to a Mustang and stop the diatribe on the V6.

Well said! Ps drove the BRZ before the mustang but it just didn't stir me like my stang. The whole package for me with the stang power ,efficiency history and lore throw in the awesome looks and interior the BRZ was no match for my stang

Went into a empty parking lot to start then took in on the streets for a good 10min or so. I have to say, I was very surprised. It handled better then any car I've ever driven. And its power, I thought was comparable to my 3.7. A little weaker but not by much. For only 200hp/151tq, it didn't really feel too underpowered. The car just felt great all around. Really enjoyed it, more then my 12 V6. Which I was very shocked about. The shifts were pretty good and short. Nothing to really complain about there. My only complaints would be the interior. It's a small car so obviously not much room. The interior quality wasn't anything to brag about. Back seats? Not sure why it has those. Should just have two. No trunk space either. The seats held you in very nicely though.

I am now seriously considering trading in my Mustang and Versa for one. Really like the car. I prefer my Mustangs interior by far but the BRZ gets better mpg's, handles better, is just as quick and by trading in both my cars will save me a lot of money. I love my Stang but I think this car just makes more sense for me right now. Not sure if I'll order it now or wait till the spring but I think I'm definitely going to get one.
The BRZ is a great looking sports car. Have fun!
