2012 GT500

So today my boss and I are going to pick up a 2012 GT500 for him. He has little experience with a manual car. So Friday we are going to the Royal Purple Race Drag Strip in Baytown, TX. He is letting me run it down the track. What are the common 1/4 times with a 2012 gt500?

Bone stock on stock tires you'd be lucky to get low 12's. traction is a huge issue for them. I've seen an 11 GT500 go 11.62 on just slicks. If you can get traction they're very fast

So my friend bought the Gt500 and he let me drive it and traction is a huge issue but it pulls really hard. He wants me to run it Friday for him at the track...any tips for launching it?

Don't dump the clutch, launch from idle or slightly above and slip the clutch

nice, great time to buy a non 2013 and get a heck of a deal since they bumped the performance up to much on the new ones.

Not sure on times, if you can get the 60ft in the 2.0 or less range and shift at the peak power points (not sure where they are) you should see some good results.
