Thought about putting blue led light strips around my headlights to outline them. Anyone done this?

For show purposes only perhaps, would be a good way to meet the local pd driving around like that

Its just that I've noticed some newer vehicles have some led strips on the bottom of the headlight and some have like a half strip on top.....

Color is the only issue I see. Clear/white or amber shouldn't give you any issues

Those are white though. If they aren't, then they aren't OEM and are more than likely, illegal.

These folks aren't lying...when I was a dumb teenager with my old '02 sixxer, I thought it'd be cool to have a blue led strip behind the grille that would light the whole thing up...it looked sweet, but the FIRST DAY I had it on there, I got pulled over and handed a nice little ticket. Not worth it. Blue on the outside of your car is a no-no. Inside, however.... Maybe a trunk lit up blue is in order?

He's right! You don't want an impersonating a cop ticket. Even though you had no intentions of it. White, or amber will work just fine.

Did you just change it out for a different color or remove it all together?

I pulled it out and used it in the trunk. I originally was thinking it would be a similar color to the HIDs I had, but it ended up being way bluer and didn't match. I decided against pursuing a cool white strip to replace it with out of fear of getting another ticket

1slosix is just getting started.
in TN the exact light laws would allow this mod OP...here as long as they don't flash or give off a pattern while the vehicle is in motion it's fine (red, blue, amber, green are allowed that way)...when i was in HS i actually printed that section of the law book and kept it in my glovebox just in case i was ever pulled over. Although i was never bothered for my blue lights. Nowadays i think leds look god aweful on 99% of vehicles so yeah lol

so if you want to do it then check your states law book, then also check local laws. you can google them
