Depends on what you have a 2bbl or high performance K vin numbered car. The 289 2bbl is available fron Auto-Zone the high performance 289 4 bbl carb is much harder to find in good condition. Don't just go about changing high pro carb and intake for 2bbl because the compression and camshaft is different.

For a car like that I would say cheap is not an option. Go for broke if you want to keep the car in good condition.

a lot of different ones will work with simple changes, you can find rebuilt ones at parts stores and used ones at wrecking yards and on ebay.com

You might even try a parts kit and rebuild your own.

www.hemmings.com

www.oldcarsweekly.com

Both good sources of vintage car parts.
