1965 Mustang? or. 2009 Mustang?

This guy has been arguing with me that my restored 65 mustang is a 40 year old "piece of crap" and that his 17th birthday present "im a little rich boy 09 mustang" is "top of the line".

My brother and I spent 3 years restoring it, finishing just before my 17th birthday in May. It has its original VIN numbers. Rebuilt engine and rebuilt Manual transmission.

The other guy's "top of the line" isn't even a GT500. Plus its a automatic (which should be against a law). He tried to pimp it out and it looks like crap now.

What do you people prefer? Old School badass car, or New wannabe gangster crap? No just limited to our cars, just in general.

I prefer whatever has more power. However I would much rather drive the 65 because I'm a huge fan of old school muscle cars. I think anyone who can't appreciate a classic car deserves nothing more than a riced out 90 Civic but I suppose that's just my opinion. Chances are (if you did a good job restoring your car) it would beat that 09 in a race. His car is far from top of the line if it's the low end/nothing special Mustang. Your car is most likely not a piece of crap either. But I do agree a manual transmission is definitely a big waste of money.

@Dan W: Because the '09 is newer? I don't think you know much about muscle cars. Most are far more badass than the modern versions. Especially the Mustang, GTO, and Charger.

Vintage all the way man. I've been looking for an antique Mustang myself for quite some time now. Sure the 2009 models are sleek and new, but the old mustangs have character, and the fact that you rebuilt it yourself makes it that much cooler.

Also, tell this guy that he's retarded for trying to "pimp" his mustang. You just don't mess with a good thing.

While a 2009 will have benefits no 40 year old car can have simply due to the advance in technology, nothing, and I mean NOTHING can beat a '60s Mustang. That guy's just a tool and clearly is lacking the appreciation for a classic when he sees one. Let him live in his delusion, but if the two you drove down the street together, your car is the one that would get everyone turning their heads.

With a crappy statement, the little rich boy ruined the pride you had in the job you did restoring your car, and the good times spent with your bro. Who cares what he thinks in the first place? He's jealous. If you like your 65 Mustang, then that's all that matters. If not, sell it and get a new one. Whatever makes you happy.

1965. no question. i have one myself. it is wayyy more fun and gets sooo much more attention than a new one. new ones blend in. old ones stand out. AND: even when my car's engine was COMPLETELY stock, no mods to it whatsoever, i raced a brand new '08 mustang with mods and kept up with him. not saying that i beat him or anything, but my car is 40+ years old, stock at the time, and still kept up with a brand new one. But anyway, don't pay any attention to that ******bag, he's just jealous that you have a better car than he does.

In the case of your two cars, you are by far the victor. Ford's manufacturing skills are not what they used to be. I would take an old school Mustang any day over the new ones. Nice choice.

In the general situation, it's a toss up. With advances in technology some cars have made improvements with things like traction control and all wheel drive. In my opinion, Mustangs are NOT one of those cars. Enjoy your pu**y magnet!

Be proud of what you did and what you have.
Let him be proud too.
I'll bet that he is envious of what you have accomplished.

He's a ******bag. Some people just can't appreciate the beauty of a classic car. Rest assured that you'll make a pretty penny if/when you decide to sell.

I'm a girl, and in all honestly, i think the older cars are ******* awesome looking. 65 mustangs would totally beat an 09 automatic mustang.

While I really like the new mustangs if given the choice between classic and new you gotta go classic. If you gotta pair of testes that is.

There is no way the '65 is as good a car as a '09, but parked side by side yours gets the crowd.

Old School badass car. Hands down.
It's a classic, and some years from now she'll be worth 10 times the crappy 2009 one.
